Random Mauer thought

It’s a shame Mauer didn’t play in 2019. All of those hard hit outs to the warning track would have been homeruns, no?

Yeah, he'd have probably matched or exceeded his career high in HRs if he played that year.

Are you talking about the flares to left after he took the obligatory called strike 1 and couldn't get a free pass to raise his obp?

maybe my memory is flawed but I remember he used to hit line drives to left that were homeruns at the meteodome but were outs on the warning track at target field

He just needed to wait until the cement dried.

I don't even want to remember those constant flares to left field  ,, teams adjusted to him and he never adjusted  , drove me nuts ...

To this day I have no random thoughts of him

Should've asked for Jobu for some extra power.  Or drank more milk.

Honestly, I think he would've hit more home runs if he were more of a pull hitter instead of the opposite way.  He had the power, but the geometry wouldn't work going the other way.

The thread is about HR, but if you want to change the subject, the man had a lifetime BA of .306.
