glunn Community Moderator Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Bert keeps acting like this is do or die for Hendriks. There do seem to be fans frustrated with Hendriks, too, and he's obviously been pretty bad up in the bigs. But, why do people give him a shorter leash than Dozier, for example? I mean both players have comparable time in the big leagues and neither have looked good. The difference is, Hendriks has already pitched well in AAA and is younger. I would add that there are not a lot of prospects ready to take his place. Also, if Pelfrey continues to pitch like he did yesterday, then that hole will need to be filled.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 So the question on everyone's mind here is.... can Florimon handle the bat?
glunn Community Moderator Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 C'mon Florimon -- ducks on the pond.
snepp Verified Member Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Now that's the kind of "sacrifice" I can get behind.
glunn Community Moderator Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Now that's the kind of "sacrifice" I can get behind. Finally someone other than Plouffe gets HBP. Now Hicks has a golden opportunity.
Alex Verified Member Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 2nd pitch was way outside. Terrible call.
snepp Verified Member Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Now Hicks has a golden opportunity. To get a golden sombrero.
snepp Verified Member Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Is this plate appearance going to double the number of w/RISP Mauer has had this season?
LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 To get a golden sombrero. Halfway there...
Alex Verified Member Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Mauer doesn't seem to be seeing the ball as well as usual.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Mauer's swing aimer is off kilter.
snepp Verified Member Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Anything you can do, I can do better!
Alex Verified Member Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 This feels like a Liriano/Deduno type outing for Davis. That pitch to Willingham was way inside where he's been calling them. Should have been strike 3.
glunn Community Moderator Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Hammer needs to pick up his teammates here!
LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Anything you can do, I can do better! Ethel Merman likes this.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Your Minnesota Twins, folks!
glunn Community Moderator Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 That was disappointing. Bases loaded with no outs and our hitters were unable to make any solid contact. On a more positive note, the pitch count for Davis is at 52.
Scheherezade Provisional Member Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Bases loaded with zero outs, zero runs scored.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Bases loaded and no outs, the average MLB, not AL, team scores an average of just under 2.4 runs in the inning, and scores at least once 88% of the time... so that was a... special sequence.
snepp Verified Member Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Fantastic What I was thinking started with the same letter.
Pius Jefferson Verified Member Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Mauer doesn't seem to be seeing the ball as well as usual. He looks like crap so far. Maybe the worst non-injury stretch he's had in the major leagues.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Must...not... make ....hit/error.....comment
snepp Verified Member Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Holy cow, did Dickbert just criticize someone/thing?
LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Holy cow, did Dickbert just criticize someone/thing? And on a night where I don't have DVR, of course. Thanks for the confirmation.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 68%, 1.6 runs for loaded/1 out... And I would have taken the over with Hendricks on the mound. Well done, Liam.
GCTF Verified Member Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 68%, 1.6 runs for loaded/1 out... Not a good night for math so far. SSS.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 11, 2013 Author Posted April 11, 2013 I see Hendriks is out there, playing his best "dodge cars on the freeway while blindfolded" game.
snepp Verified Member Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 I see Hendriks is out there, playing his best "dodge cars on the freeway while blindfolded" game. That's kind of what I felt like dodging all the limbs falling out of the trees. Only I wasn't getting paid half a million to do it.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 I see Hendriks is out there, playing his best "dodge cars on the freeway while blindfolded" game. Nah... he 'scattered 4 hits'. And if he gets a W it'll be because he's 'learning how to win'.
