sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 19, 2020 Posted September 19, 2020 Alas, we did neither. Oh well.
Sielk Verified Member Posted September 19, 2020 Posted September 19, 2020 I feel like it's far too easy to beat Rich Hill with small ball.
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 19, 2020 Posted September 19, 2020 So umps make their own rules now, why not, you can’t challenge them
Sielk Verified Member Posted September 19, 2020 Posted September 19, 2020 Even if it was in the Twins' favor for once, that was a garbage call. What was Schwarber supposed to do?

TwinsCD Verified Member Posted September 19, 2020 Posted September 19, 2020 21 years of umpiring, I've only told one batter that got hit by a pitch that he had to stay in the box and continue his at bat. Though, I don't totally disagree with Angel's call there.

insagt1 Verified Member Posted September 19, 2020 Posted September 19, 2020 these guys just up there hacking. Sano's AB's getting worse and worse. That stat that the last time the Twins produced multiple runs without a HR was Sept 7th. Gives us the idea that this is a legitimate slump for the team as a whole.
jun Verified Member Posted September 19, 2020 Posted September 19, 2020 Even if it was in the Twins' favor for once, that was a garbage call. What was Schwarber supposed to do?Are you talking about the strike three call? That's clearly a fastball in the strike zone.
Sielk Verified Member Posted September 19, 2020 Posted September 19, 2020 Are you talking about the strike three call? That's clearly a fastball in the strike zone. No, I was talking about Schwarber being hit by Rich Hill and not getting first base. IMO, he definitely made a move to avoid the pitch. He just hadn't anywhere to go.
jun Verified Member Posted September 19, 2020 Posted September 19, 2020 This team cannot compete with the Yankees offensively.

Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2020 Posted September 19, 2020 With Angel Hernandez as the ump, the hitters better just swing at every borderline pitch, since you'll never know if he'll call it a strike.
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 19, 2020 Posted September 19, 2020 Well that's a judgement call.Terrible judgement

But there were two balls in the Polanco AB that should've been strikes.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2020 Posted September 19, 2020 This offense is broken. The best thing that could happen would be to have Cleveland pass us. We’ll get embarrassed in New York. And it won’t be close like usual

insagt1 Verified Member Posted September 19, 2020 Posted September 19, 2020 anyone recall how many back to back hits Twins got in the White Sox series? My guess is zero. They are wasting a great effort by Hill. Come on Twins....wake up!
Sielk Verified Member Posted September 19, 2020 Posted September 19, 2020 Apart from the rough first inning Rich Hill has been really good tonight. Wonder if Rocco will give him another inning. Now please get some runs! I really wish Arraez was already back since he can get consistent hits and won't just try to hit homers.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2020 Posted September 19, 2020 cant avoid the Yankees, play them and get it over withSure there is...Cleveland only three back and winning tonight. Won’t be easy but with how poorly the offense performs on a nightly basis, Cubs could easily sweep us.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 19, 2020 Posted September 19, 2020 Donaldson! On 1st.

Twins will never go anywhere in the playoffs til they beat the Yankees
jun Verified Member Posted September 19, 2020 Posted September 19, 2020 I really think this team needs energy. Arraez, Rooker, Jeffers, Wade and Blankenhorn should get more playing time. Adrianza, Cave and Gonzalez need to go.
Sielk Verified Member Posted September 19, 2020 Posted September 19, 2020 The entire lineup has been terrible of late but somehow it seems to me that Cruz hits an easy grounder everytime he is up. Or strikes out badly.
jun Verified Member Posted September 19, 2020 Posted September 19, 2020 Hill actually pitched a pretty good game.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 19, 2020 Posted September 19, 2020 Billy Hamilton? Some excitement on the paths. Even if it don't help us.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 19, 2020 Posted September 19, 2020 Hill actually pitched a pretty good game.Concur.
