Musk21 Community Moderator Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 The whole process makes no sense to me. "To be eligible for the Hall of Fame an individual artist or band must have released their first commercial recording at least 25 years prior to the year of nomination." So why was it the first year on the ballot for Whitney Houston, Doobie Brothers, and T-Rex? This was the ballot: Pat Benatar Dave Matthews Band Depeche Mode The Doobie Brothers Whitney Houston Judas Priest Kraftwerk MC5 Motörhead Nine Inch Nails The Notorious B.I.G. Rufus featuring Chaka Khan Todd Rundgren Soundgarden T. Rex Thin Lizzy Not sure why T-Rex (Get It On/Bang a Gong) got in over Pat Benatar, Dave Matthews Band, Soundgarden to name a few.

I agree TRex is a joke. Solid band, nowhere near HOF to me. Thin Lizzy not being in is a joke, I don't understand that one. Just like I didn't understand why it took the Cars so long.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted January 16, 2020 Posted January 16, 2020 People don't actually take this stuff seriously.......do they? The list of bands not considered HOF worthy could arguably be more impressive than the ones actually in there, lol. The whole idea of it is absurd.
