twins_89 Verified Member Posted December 31, 2019 Posted December 31, 2019 Hill is actually pretty good, you just can't count on him for more than 130 innings. Bailey......ehhh Since Hill isn't expected back until June or July, I'm guessing getting 75 innings out of him might be optimistic.
jud6312 Verified Member Posted December 31, 2019 Posted December 31, 2019 This doesn't preclude a potential trade for an "impact" pitcher. They never had any intention of making a trade. This was likely their plan all along.

nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted December 31, 2019 Posted December 31, 2019 I guess I'll be the buzzkill of the mob, I wanted Wheeler or Ryu, but these were two of the guys I would have been happy with out of the bargain bin (along with Taijuan Walker). I actually think Hill added to the Pineda absence makes it more likely that the Twins will swing a trade for someone more exciting. And when/if all the starters return, I think Homer Bailey's FB/Slider combo is going to work really well out of the pen. But yeah, if there is no trade for a front line starter, I'll not be happy.
Battle ur tail off Verified Member Posted December 31, 2019 Posted December 31, 2019 Wow and ouch....This better not be "it" LOL. You haven't been a fan for very long have ya? This is most definitely it. There will be a press conference soon, they will introduce these 2 and act as if they just brought in front line pitching.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted December 31, 2019 Posted December 31, 2019 They never had any intention of making a trade. This was likely their plan all along. How do you figure? This current Twins free agent crop would be more underwhelming than any of the Twins other recent free agent classes, even when the team was terrible. Please explain why the intention was to do less now that they are winning than when they were losing? Go ahead be upset, don't be hyperbolic.
wabene Verified Member Posted December 31, 2019 Posted December 31, 2019 Kind of impossible to grade an off season before it is over. You really can't even access something like a mid-term grade because you don't have the full context yet. We're still 2 days away from the day they signed Cruz last year. Just sayin.
