Pencil in August 12

August 12 is the Twins' next off day. It is at the end of a rugged 13 game run starting tonight with 3 against the Marlins. Then its straight into a 10 game home stand concluding with 7 games against teams with Native American team names. 1 leads the NL East, the other is 2 behind the Twins in the AL Central. I think its fair to say that the standings on Aug. 12 will say an awful lot about the standings on Sep. 30.

I would pencil in Aug 19.  That's the next day the Indians get a day off.  In that the stretch of 20 games, the worst team they will face is a 53-53 Texas Rangers team.  Included is 3 with HOU, 3 with BOS, 3 @  NYY and of course the 4 with us.

 

The Twins need to take care of business in these next 6 with Miami and Kansas City

I would pencil in Sept. 29. That will tell us a lot about the standings on Sept. 30 as well. (Sorry, it's the end of a long work day and junking a car that my son wrecked, so I'm a little snarkier than normal.)

 

But yes, those are a couple of helpful reads on how the schedule shapes up in the weeks to come. Thanks for summarizing.

Just get out your highlighter and do the whole month of August and September to be safe
