I asked in the game recap thread why Reed hasn't been put on the DL considering he's down 2-3 MPH from last season.

 

This makes sense now. He's probably been trying to pitch through the pain all season.

Molly using him every other day probably didn't help.

It's not just the loss of MPH, there wasn't much movement on the ball when I starting paying attention to his bad outings. I thought I saw better movement lately, and I didn't see last night's outing to know if this reversed itself. A DL stint is hardly unexpected, just from the boxscores. Something hasn't been right since the early season. IMO he showed guts - but we'll look back at this as a lost season for him, probably.
