OK, this is what we've all been waiting for. Bases load for Alexi Casilla with two outs, tying run on 2nd...

You said it! :) You were being sarcastic though, right?

OK, yeah, I was, but it worked out anyway!

Watching the Royals broadcast...they've been showing shots of David Lough's family (making his MLB debut today). There appears to be a rather huge fat guy sleeping right behind them.

Throw the Fat Guy in the Fountain... That'll wake him up.

A forklift may be required. This guy is pretty big.

Make his hair and beard white and I'd swear this Collins guy is moonlighting as the spokesgnome for Travelocity.

Just have to put a red hat on Gardy.

Regarding Vasquez, I think it all about command. He looks really good when he is ahead on the count--very hittable when he's behind on the count. Let's see what he does in subsequent starts, but I would think he could challenge for a position on next year's staff.

Who finishes the season with the higher BA Parmelee (currently at .228) or Florimon (currently at .259)? This is obviously half glass full/empty perspective.

I am liking what he has shown thus far.

I think the best-case scenario given their limited options and payroll restrictions is that the Twins envision:

1) 4 current cheap options clearly rise to the top here in September and through Spring Training (some combination of Diamond, Deduno, DeVries, Hendriks, Hermsen, Walters, Hernandez and Vasquez)

2) 1 mid-priced FA signing of an innings-eating-type

3) prayer and hope that the additional healthy availability of Baker and Gibson (no later than June) bolsters the SP staff, which then cull the arms that get hurt or struggle

Being a Twins fan seems to require a lot of prayer.

So we're going after Joe Blanton?

Well, he's not Blackburn so he's got that going for him.

Minnesota, where relievers start, and first basemen play the outfield.

And catchers play first base and the DH is stationed in left.
