Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2018 Author Posted May 22, 2018 Lynn could give up 4 runs in 5 innings and lower his era. That would actually be his third best start if he did that. And I think he can do it!!!
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 I just watched the replay on the Kepler play at the plate. He may have been out but I have no idea how they reverse that. That was flipping close. It was nonsense. Unless they have an angle they don’t show the viewers. And why would that be true?

wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 (edited) The Grossman tag was a horrible baserunning decision. He was already in scoring position, in a tie game, and the fly ball was out two. Grossman runs like a man dragging a plow. There is some advantage to being on third with 2 out vs on second, but not much. If the throw was on line, he's out by 3 steps. In contrast, Rosario's gamble didn't just gain a base, it paid off in a run, with 2 out, and Adrianza due up. I don't think the throw gets him even if it's on line. From my angle in the stands, he was going to be out by 20' with a decent throw. Maybe that's not how it is, but that's what it looked like from section 108. 1st edit: And if it was closer than that, that could change my opinion. 2nd edit: just saw the replay. It was closer than I initially thought, but still out with a decent throw. I'm not as bothered by it as I was initially, but I still think it was a poor decision. wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 Like I said, Rosario caused the bad throw. Your scenario didn't happen and it was because of Rosario's play.A mediocre throw gets him by quite a bit. That makes it dumb in my view. Results don't make a decision a correct one. Lucking into a run isn't wise. That's all I'm saying. You were right earlier, agree to disagree.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 The game situation made it a good risk to take.I don't necessarily disagree with this, but if he's out they run themselves out of a potentially bigger inning.
OTPS300 Verified Member Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 Rosario taking a risk and scoring was a no brainer. The team wins regardless if he scores or not. Our much maligned closer took care of things again. The Rosario catch to end the game was very good but that is what outfielders are supposed to do. Not one mention here about Rodney getting another save.
