Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 Okay, Buxton is on the DL. Grossman is in the outfield, yet, arguably, LaMarre is the better fielder and he's been hitting, unlike Mr. Grossman. So, Grossman gets the playing time. On what planet? Or, am I missing something? yeah, yeah, I'm leaving myself wide open with this one. To answer your questions, Earth, and yes.
BoofBonser Verified Member Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 Andrew Miller is almost as good as prime Sam Deduno
RaoulDuke Verified Member Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 Commence Anti-jinx: The Twins are going to lose this game 1-0 when Molitor brings Zach Duke in for the tenth. To face 4 righties in a row.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 SCORERUNSThis. But for the Twins, not Cleveland.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 10 days for a migrane? Seems a bit excessive.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 Lewis was definitely not a consensus top pick, and not only does he look better than expected so far, the savings on signing him netted us Rooker and Enlow. They turned Ynoa into Littell. As for MLB players, it didn't make sense to add MLB players prior to last year, as the realistic window for the Twins was 65-75 wins--much better to evaluate what you already have in your system. This year when it made sense to add players, they added Reed, Rodney, Duke, Odorizzi, Lynn, and LoMo. Granted, Duke and LoMo are looking pretty bad so far, but the rest have been decent to great. There is absolutely no reason at this point to question whether Falvine are good at their jobs. I'm willing to agree that Falvine shouldn't be considered elite yet, but they clearly know what they're doing. The to five picks are all in the top twenty five prospects, none of them look like bad picks right now. So, not sure picking Lewis was the only good pick, that was my point. Any of those five is probably a good pick, given what we know now. You want to bet Lewis turns out better than the field?
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 Lamarre has literally eight plate appearances. Grossman has hundreds, and they're mostly pretty good. Not the last 20. If one is living in the present, and not the recent past, like last year, LaMarre all the way.
woolywoolhouse Verified Member Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 I guess setting this up for a Rosario walk-off is pretty good story telling. A little cliche, sure, but still fun.
Puckett34 Verified Member Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 10 days for a migrane? Seems a bit excessive.Well, it's more like 7. And tomorrow's an off day. And the weekends always go fast. So it'll feel like 3 days max.

Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 Fair. So they should have added no free agents last year, beyond one year deals? And, it simply isn't true that no player should be signed long term. I mean, if Mauer had been a free agent, would signing him have been bad?Did you read what I wrote? I said "don't give one year longer than they demand". If you can get a guy for one year, don't give him two for "security" unless it's a favorable deal. If the player is amazing and demands five years and fills a need, you give him five years. NOT SIX.

If one is living in the present, and not the recent past, like last year, LaMarre all the way.Because baseball history has taught us we should put a lot of stock into Spring Training and the past 20 plate appearances.

mrmpls Verified Member Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 To answer your questions, Earth, and yes.WHY NOT gARVER??????????????
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 Why?! Why is this Rodney time?? Because Berrios had 84 pitches.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 Baseball history tells us to ride the hot bat, yes.Actually, no, it doesn't. It tells us the exact opposite. A hot bat is only hot as long as it stays hot and that changes on a daily basis.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 There was this when he found out they ran out of piña coladas after Tim Kurkjian got into the stash. I wonder if Tim K is into yoga or not. Not sure he has half a brain, though.

twinssporto Verified Member Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 You can see why Buxton has a serious WAR number patrolling the outfield. Kepler should have had that ball.

AZTwin Verified Member Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 If he gave Berrios another inning the bullpen still would have gotten work
