Blake Verified Member Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 Lamarre has literally eight plate appearances. Grossman has hundreds, and they're mostly pretty good.I think too many players are giving away too many bats and things should be shaken up a bit. Grossman is an average fielder, at best and the bat isn't quite there this year. Maybe slide in Lamarre, move Grossman to DH and sit Morrison. Edit: Man, did I have to quickly edit after I posted. I was talking in so many different directions my own head was spinning.
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 The to five picks are all in the top twenty five prospects, none of them look like bad picks right now. So, not sure picking Lewis was the only good pick, that was my point. Any of those five is probably a good pick, given what we know now. You want to bet Lewis turns out better than the field? Hunter Greene has a career 9.82 ERA and 1.91 WHIP--SSS to be sure, but he is struggling the same league Lewis is holding his own in. Mackenzie Gore looked great in the Rookie league last year, he looks like a good pick so far. Brendan McKay has an OPS over 1.000 right now, but in low A as a 22 year old. Kyle Wright is in AA, and has decent stats, he looks like a good pick so far. Lewis has over an .800 OPS as an 18 year old in low A, only about 70 points below what Correa did as 18 year old in the MW league. Yes it's early, but the Lewis pick looks great right now--if he's 90% of what Carlos Correa is, that's a spectacular pick.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 I was really hoping for a 1-2-3 inning, but it looks like we're gonna go through the Rodney Experience again.

When will we all realize that baseball is a 162 game season?
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 There we go... and breathe out...
Puckett34 Verified Member Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 Great use of 1/6 of our mound visits
drock2190 Verified Member Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 Walk this game off Rosario!! Then I go watch the Twolves!
mrmpls Verified Member Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 Still wondering why Mitch Garver never plays, we all know what Castro is? and against Miller ???
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 Great use of 1/6 of our mound visits Don't worry. If it goes extra innings they get an extra mound visit EVERY SINGLE INNING.

And if it is too early to question Falvine, it just be too early to say Lewis is going to be ninety percent of one of the best players in the game, I'd think.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 I really don't understand why they don't play Garver more either.

RaoulDuke Verified Member Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 Waiting for the Wolves came to pop on, the end of the game interview with Lebron the reporter blindsides him with news of Pops wife passing and he basically cried on air. Maybe have a little bit of a heart sports media people.

Right now I am of the opinion that Falvine knows what they're doing, so I'm going to need evidence they're not good, as opposed to needing evidence that they are good.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 Yeah, I get that... which is why you argue in-game decisions, not 25-man roster decisions.Okay, fair ... but ... still ... damn it ... I want to win THIS ONE GAME. I'm gonna say **** because I want to win THIS ONE GAME.
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 Francona doing just as bad of a managerial job as Molitor.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 I really don't understand why they don't play Garver more either.Rest. I hope that Garver gets a lot more action later in the season but right now, there's no reason to replace your starter with a backup.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 I really don't understand why they don't play Garver more either.I like Garver, but he's a rookie that Molitor doesn't trust very much. They're going to keep sending him out there for his defense... perhaps they don't trust Garver as much defensively. Many on this forum called Garver awful defensively, but I'm not sure how relevant that criticism was.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 Rest. I hope that Garver gets a lot more action later in the season but right now, there's no reason to replace your starter with a backup. No reason, imo, not to pinch hit for Castro occasionally. And, yes there is a reason, Castro can't hit lefties and Garver might.
Blake Verified Member Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 Yeah, I get that... which is why you argue in-game decisions, not 25-man roster decisions.Wait, I thought I was arguing an in-game decision. Isn't Lamarre currently with the Twins in PR?
