Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted April 18, 2018 Posted April 18, 2018 Hello...(hello...hello)... Is there anybody IN here?lurking Though, like train wrecks, I do give my undivided attention to the Logan Morrison at bats
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted April 18, 2018 Posted April 18, 2018 Unfortunate about Buxton. Like another poster said, my first thought was Percy Harvin and I hope Buck doesn't have to deal with this his whole career

Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 No way PR gets an MLB team..like you said they wouldn't be able to support it sadly. Likely just saying it because of the circumstances. It would be great to have a team there but MLB would have to subsidize it heavily. No way does it make business sense. The only city outside the US and Canada that would have any chance at all is Mexico City.
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 The past two nights have been as bad as spring training games. It's just one big promo for PR and how great it is and everyone has such pride in the island. It's obvious the agenda is far more important than the games.

I think they'll have a hard time signing players to long-term deals, let alone attracting free agents.

Blake Verified Member Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 Well, the broadcasting team doing this game in PR did something I thought was impossible: Made me long for the penetrating insights of Hawk Harrelson. I believe this is the first time I've ever turned the sound off on a game because of the broadcasters. Someone needs to tell those idiots there are other players on the field besides Lindor.

Blake Verified Member Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 Beats "Muskrat Love."I turned the sounds off after about 10 minutes of "Lindor Love." At least Muskrat Love ends in about 3 minutes and then we can move on.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 Karl Ravech just called Joe Mauer a Hall of Famer, in reaction to that line drive catch.
Dave The Dastardly Verified Member Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 Saw the pix of James Garfield earlier, and just so you know, his vice president was Chester Arthur, who's a descendant of mine. Arthur became prez when a crazy anarchist shot Garfield dead. That is all. CBU.You sure he wasn't shot buy a guy who couldn't read either Latin or Greek? I know that would drive me nuts if the President only wrote stuff I couldn't understand. Wait a minute...
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 Karl Ravetch just called Joe Mauer a Hall of Famer, in reaction to that line drive catch. To be fair, that was a dig at Tim K, who earlier had declared he doesn't believe Mauer is a HOFer.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 And renowned heavyweight drinker Tim Kurkjian just said "Wow" at that piña colada.
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 We just might have something here with this Berrios kid.

Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 Unlike Percy Harvin, Byron is already able to (potentially) legally treat his migraines in multiple states.I've had one migraine in my life. I feel for people who suffer them regularly. Some people say they are so bad you need to have absolute dark and quiet, but I couldn't hold still or stand the quiet. I had to get up every few minutes and pace around and either shout or laugh. Did that for hours. Was way beyond pain. Eventually I must have collapsed in exhaustion and it went away. I don't remember. And this concludes this "no one cares about your stupid s***" update
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 To be fair, Karl is right. I think there are very few players who are clear HOFer's while they are still playing. I think Mauer is akin to a college basketball that's 17-7 through the first 75% of the schedule. He hasn't done enough yet, but 2-3 more good years, and he's probably in.
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 LoMo looks defeated right now. I'd say he might need a few days off, but he just got that.

I am still hoping a World Series ring in the next couple of years is what pushes him over the edge. Extra points if it is because of a walk off walk.

Huddy Verified Member Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 Or an MVPHe won't accrue a high enough WAR being a first baseman to win the MVP. However a batting title isn't out of the question, Cuddy did it.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 You know, I was always bullish on Berrios but really, I'm starting to believe I wasn't bullish enough on the kid. Never underestimate the type of kid who cries when he's drafted, posts absurd offseason workout videos, and studies the game like a fiend. He's a gamer at a level we rarely see.
