Mr. Brooks Verified Member Posted August 30, 2017 Posted August 30, 2017 Man, I don't know. This season, if he keeps it up, would be the first 1.000 OPS season for Trout in his career. I can see multiple extended stretches with 1.000 OPS but whole seasons is a tall order.Fair, and probably right.
drjim Provisional Member Posted August 30, 2017 Posted August 30, 2017 Fair, and probably right.Still, it would be awesome (and not impossible). And I know we're getting way ahead of ourselves, but bleep it, let's go. We can have nice things, I lived through Johan 04-06 and the summer of Frankie.

Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted August 30, 2017 Posted August 30, 2017 I forgot it was that high. What a monster season.Yeah, now imagine that guy playing a defensive position (not a defensive position plus DH) at a 25+ runs saved per season clip. It's possible but I don't think people realize what kind of season that would be. It's a 12+ WAR season, something even Trout hasn't done in his career (and Trout has never had a full 1.000+ OPS nor has he had a 25+ runs saved season).

I've thought that Buxton would have multiple 7-8 WAR seasons, but if he hits at a higher level, that is definitely selling him short.
