Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 In a season filled with a lot of decomposing corpses and a sad overall experience. I would like to focus the last week of the season on the most shiny diamond the Twins have this season Brian Dozier. Brian has been an offensive power house since mid-June. Numbers that no one could have envisioned or made up. You would have been the laughing stock of this community if you predicted this would be the end outcome just a few short months ago. Damn, 40 home runs.. I am still in shock. Dozier is at 42 right now, he needs 3 to have the single season record for a starting 2B in MLB and he is 2 short of Trumbo of the MLB lead. We really need to band together and put our good Mojo into this young man and hope for one more resurgence from Dozier and hope he has the week of his life! First and foremost I want... need Dozier to have the single season record for Home Runs by a Second Baseman. Second, it would be mind blowing if a MN Twins Player lead both leagues in Home Runs. The Twins for so, so many years sucked at hitting the long ball. 30 would make you tingle and that feeling was few and far between. In a season of suck, we deserve both of these accomplishments and I do not want a 2nd Place Trophy in this instance. I want complete victory! In the last week of this season, we need to rally behind Dozier and have him hit both landmarks. It will be the biggest small victory of our baseball lifetime and we will remember it for the duration of our lives. Take it over Dozier. Blow this **** up!!!
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2016 Posted September 28, 2016 Will comments help? The article seems to be part of the cooling off. Dozier has one single in his last 22 at bats with 6 Ks in the last 5 games since his hitting streak ended. Come on Dozier, it has been declared Brian Dozier week, and fans have needs!
Thrylos Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2016 Posted September 28, 2016 I am all for anything that will increase his trade value.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Dozier has really messed up his Appreciation week. Bummer. His switch is on or off..... no dimmer for subtle gradual changes.

Joe A. Preusser Verified Member Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 I'm sure this has been covered elswhere, but why the hell do we care if he hit a HR as a 2b or a DH? That seems annoyingly nitpicky. He's played 99% of his season at 2B. He's a 2B. I don't get it. I say he needs 1 for the record.

h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 2 for 34 to end the season, and striking out like Buxton at the start of the year. His average dropped from the .280s into the .260s, and stuck at 99 as that ellusive 100th RBI never crossed the plate. Still a career year. Should we attribute it to the Bark Jinx?
Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted October 2, 2016 Author Posted October 2, 2016 I confess, I **** the bed on this one. I don't believe in superstition or jinxes, but I fully believe in bad timing and a good player falling back to earth from a platform that I believe is higher than anyone could ever envision for Mr. Dozier. This post was made with good intentions and hoping for a great conclusion to end a season of destitution. It didn't work out.
Tovar12 Verified Member Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 Provided we keep Dozier, will he be (or does he have the ability to be) our team leader in 2017? We need a Tori Hunter, Kirby Puckett, Kent Hrbek type in the club house. Is Dozier a leader, does he want to be a leader? Lord knows it ain't Mauer. Thoughts on this anyone?
