Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 Meanwhile, in the "Do coaches make a difference?" category: Belichick and McDaniel are coaching the Patriots to a win tonight with exactly one quarterback on their roster for the game--a rookie quarterback, no less.
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 Gary Cederstrom kind of sucks at calling balls and strikes.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 I wonder if Molitor notices other teams running relievers out there for only an inning at a time, in most cases?
LaBombo Verified Member Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 The simple joys of sharing baseball with family. Came out to the folks' to have dinner and watch the game. During the 7th inning stretch my dad mentioned there were leftovers in the fridge if I got hungry. Went and ate a quick snack and came back. Dad: "Find something to eat?" Me: "Leftover porkchop." Dad: "Huh." Me: "What do you mean, 'huh' ?" Dad: "Had porkchops last night. No leftovers, though." Me: "Small piece, in the butter compartment, wrapped in saran wrap" Dad, after thinking for a few seconds: "Oh, that. Use that to give the dog her medicine." Me, after waiting for a few seconds for him to say something else : "Dad, how old was the porkchop?" Dad, pretending not to hear: "How many games is Dozier's hit streak now?"

LaBombo Verified Member Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 Swept at home all year......nice. Fortunately they had the decency to tear the Metrodome down before the Twins managed to surrender a season sweep to a division opponent there. Last time was 1979, in the middle of another terrible stretch of seasons for the organization, but back then they at least had the fig leaf of one of the lowest payrolls in baseball. And as a bonus the Twins have single-handedly put the Tigers in the thick of the wildcard race.
