Rosterman Verified Member Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 When you are going to throw a lineup out there like you did on September 11th, there is a place for Walker. And if the Twins are playing this bad...we don't need to look at the work of Albers, Duffey, Dean, Schafer, Centeno and, sadly, Beresford...not to mention Milone and Boshers. That's eight spots of guys who are getting at bats or innings. I would, at this point, rather see rookies getting bombed as much as veterans are getting bombed. Wheeler, Gonsalves, Jones, Walker, Garver, and anyone else that MIGHT need protection on the 40-man rather than players that will be looking for a job (wait, the Twins always seem to be hiring) next season. Nothing against giving a few a chance, but this is ridiculous in a losing season with a roster going nowhere.
old nurse Verified Member Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 And his best was 20% with 109 RBI and 27 homers. Let's work towards those numbers, although Chris Davis has a career 30% K rate which was even higher this year and last year. Your right about Shafer becoming Dozier (possible), but I would rather bank my money on a guy who at least produced in AAA. Dozier was promoted on gut not anything special he did in AAA. Just saying. If we can promote on gut, then we can promote on production averages. Non better over the last 4 seasons.Danny Santana had an OPS of over .800 and a WRC+ of 132 in 2014 yet no one would appear to be advocating that Santana play even though he matched those numbers in AAA the following year for a half season. If people are going to be Santana at 25 is hopeless why should I think that Walker could ever match an outlier number?
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Another scintillating lineup for the Twins today. Obviously intended to provide hope to fans for next year, as it gives them a glimpse into the future. I know I'm pumped.
old nurse Verified Member Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 After the losing streak started in August I began to think that they were tanking for number 1. Some patterns are leading me to believe it.
