Couldn't tell you if he was in the book but he was a 24th rounder last year out of Appalachian state and is a 22 year old in rookie ball... It's good that he's hitting well but he's not someone to keep an eye on

He had a tore labrum when he was drafted his senior year and this is his first season back

 Kid has big raw power although making consistent contact is his issue.  In the field he covers good ground, running good routes and has an average to plus arm.  He's very athletic and does have good speed for as big and powerful as he is.  Here is recent video I took of Jaylin in EXST a month ago.

He's not much of a prospect, but it would be cool if he challenged the league home-run record (24 - Mitch Einertson in 2004).

Yup he's in the prospect handbook...

 

The power is legit... Just was hurt last year. As mentioned in the book, he went to Appalachian State, and while there, he once hit two homers off of Carlos Rodon. He would likely have been drafted much higher if he hadn't been hurt.

Yeah I believe I heard fifth round or so before hurting his nonthrowing shoulder. So people shouldn't just sleep on him because the Twins got a draft day steal on him in the 24th round.

 

Also he liked his writeup in the book - and said he plans on making the 2016 Outlook true in finishing in Cedar Rapids by season's end.

Guess my only point is that he's a college guy doing what college guys should do in rookie league ball.  I'd like to see if he keeps this up in CR and then in FTM over the next year.  He rates much higher on my list if he does...  Good luck to him.

Yup agree, but in fairness we've seen plenty of these guys fail to do what he's done big against younger guys, so any positive counts in my book.

He seems like a very good teammate, and again is very down-to-earth. I like the combination of nice things to say about teammates, with the high expectations (... as long as I am in E-ton...)!

He has a K rate of 44.4% in the Appy league. 0.17 BB/K rate. Yuck. I bet he doesn't get passed A ball.

According to today's minor league report article, Davis has been promoted to Cedar Rapids.

As he should be with those numbers and his age, now he'll get to face some closer aged competition
