Platoon Verified Member Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Any chance Ryan and Molitor are having a Brad Pitt/Phillip Seymour Hoffman moment. I'm not trying to plant any seeds... I really have no idea. But... When things are not going well... things can get contentious. I'm just trying to make sense of everything that has happened in the past few hours and some things are not adding up. Did it start with the Sano Experiment? After Ryan announced Sano in RF, Molitor specifically mentioned LF as a preferred spot. Mistakes like that are not normally made. but RB is right about one thing, there is something odd going on, we are SO desperate for pitching we have screwed up the roster to a new level, then we jerk the starter after 4+ innings, and miraculously have so much pitching we don't need the new guy. Topped off by sending Kepler back to Rochester, and the guy who hands out AB's bemoaning Keplers lack of AB. It's sort of like me sitting in my chair, bemoaning the fact my lawn isn't mowed! cjj td, twinsnorth49 and Riverbrian 3

Circus Boy Verified Member Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Hey, if anyone is looking to kill some time before first pitch, how about recommending some fun things to do in Minneapolis for an out-of-towner. I'm flying out there in July (while the Twins are out of town, God dang it) for my brother's bachelor party, and I'm in charge of entertainment and stuff. We're all driving to Milwaukie the next day, so I only get one crack at a killer night in the Twin Cities. Any help is certainly appreciated! The old ski jump on the way to MOA is a hoot. The snow should still be good.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 That was a no brainer. Taking Nunez crazy BABIP out of the equation, Mauer is the only guy on this team to currently fear.Sano has a higher OPS than Mauer over the past 14 days but okay.

Ya, something is off, imo. that, and Molitor is a terrible in game manager.

cjj td Verified Member Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Any chance that Meyer gets a start in the next couple of days? It's the only other thing I could think of that made any sense other than the "Molitor hates young guys and/or TR" theory.
Blake Verified Member Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Completely off topic: I will be in the Cities next week due to a family crisis. And wouldn't you know it? The Twins will be on a road trip. I need to talk to my family about their crisis scheduling.
Platoon Verified Member Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Sano has a higher OPS than Mauer over the past 14 days but okay. I can get Sano out with a good pitch. Mauer has proven of his career, that you can't do the same to him. I am not dissing Sano, I am a big fan. And frankly the last half of '15 I"m with you. But Joe seems to have recovered his mojo!

Mauer has a higher chance of moderate success in that situation (walk, single) but Sano has the higher chance of "you just lost the game because I hit the ball 600 feet" success. It was a dicey move to pitch to either guy but I would have probably taken my chances with Mauer driving in a run or two over Sano possibly driving in 3-4 runs (can't remember if the bases were juiced or whether two guys were on base).
Eduardo Tait Cedar Rapids Kernels - A+ C On Thursday, the 19-year-old went 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI in Cedar Rapids. That gives him nine homers this season. Explore Eduardo Tait News >
