T-Mobile users get free MLB.tv subscriptions

My MLB.tv subscription auto-renewed and I've been using it all spring. Yesterday, I found out T-Mobile is offering free MLB.tv subscriptions.

Well, MLB was nice enough to refund my auto-renew that was over a month old!

If you paid for MLB.tv and are a T-Mobile user, I suggest you contact MLB.tv immediately and request a refund. After you're done with that, use your T-Mobile device to log back in and get a free subscription.

T-Mobile is awesome.

(mods, feel free to move this post to another forum in a day or two, just wanted to get this offer in front of as many eyeballs as possible)

I have T-mobile and signed up for it but most of the time I tried to watch a game yesterday I got an error and the TV feed wouldn't come up.  Not sure if its just a thing with my phone or what but I can still get the audio feed which is what I use it for most anyway.

T-Mobile sucks. The $100 "Free" MLB.TV account would be about $3,000 short in what it would take for me to ever go back to that crappy company.

Their service can be lackluster but I like the fact I get free service whenever I leave the country and sleep soundly knowing I'm not giving money to a company that is outwardly lobbying against my interests re: net neutrality.

Whether you're a T-Mo customer or not, they've changed American wireless service for the better. They basically forced the other carriers to drop contract-based subsidy contracts through the Uncarrier program.

The issue yesterday could have been national blackouts -- the three Sunday opening day games were all on ESPN/ESPN2.  Try again today.  (You could also try viewing an archived game if you just want to make sure it works.)

Also, while the terms of this deal say it is for T-Mobile "Simple Choice" customers (probably the standard T-Mobile contracts/plans), I have heard reports that it works for prepaid T-Mobile customers too.  Worth a shot if you or family/friends has any kind of T-Mobile services.

Well, you can still hear Sano being athletic at least ...

Not sure I understand this. If you care about net neutrality, why are you associated with T-Mobile? They're not lobbying against net neutrality, they're just blatantly ignoring it with their binge on service.

Ok, not being to savy at this stuff, I prepay for minutes on T-Mobile.  So how do I go about signing up and where do I watch MLB from?  I've just got a junk cheap phone.

Sounds like you might not be able to do it. Your T-Mobile device needs to have a web browser, basically, and some data allotment (not just minutes) from T-Mobile.

If your phone is modern enough to have a web browser, you could probably pre-pay for some data from T-Mobile in addition to minutes, and then sign up. It would probably only cost a few bucks, and they could probably help you at a T-Mobile store or kiosk (although don't mention this promo because technically prepaid plans aren't supposed to be eligible). The promo runs through April 10. Message me if need more specific advice.

That's a lot better than throwing money at congressmen to overturn it and/or suing the federal government, a la Verizon and AT&T.

And Binge On isn't the same as breaking net neutrality. It's removing a service from a data cap, not speeding up or slowing down a service. A small difference but a significant one.

And should I find Binge On that distasteful, I can simply opt out of it.
