Squirrel Community Moderator Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Okay ... this is getting started after the 1st inning is underway. First half went like this:Buxton HBP, then caught stealing. Santana singled. Sano flies out. Arcia K's. big dog Verified Member Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Watching the game- I actually think Buxton was safe, but it was a great throw and the ump called him out. I backed up the feed in super-slow-mo, because....well, just because. Very close play, at least. Santana's high hopper to first got the safe call- he might have been out. Spring training for everyone. Santana's steal was also a close play, but not as good a throw and he was definitely safe. Duffey not getting off to an ideal start here.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted March 28, 2016 Author Posted March 28, 2016 And the bottom half of the first: Popout, HR, ground out, ground out. Pirates up 1-0. Btw, this game is being televised by the Pirates if you have an MLB.TV subscription. It's also being rebroadcast on the MLB Network tomorrow morning at 8am, if you get that channel. No audio that I could find.
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Nunez 2/2 in throws that inning.
big dog Verified Member Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 The Pirate broadcast actually had Loek Van Mil listed as the starting first baseman, apparently because of the spring training numbers problem. I was looking forward to seeing a 7-footer pitcher as a first baseman, but no such luck.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted March 28, 2016 Author Posted March 28, 2016 Okay ... doing too many things to keep up with what's happening ... and missed the Twins score their first run. In the top of the 2nd, Nunez hit a single then scored on a Hicks double. Hicks on 2nd with 2 outs.
big dog Verified Member Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 CBU after 1.5 innings- 1-1. Hicks' double to right-center was really well-hit.
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Nunez 4/4!edit: In throws!
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted March 28, 2016 Author Posted March 28, 2016 Nunez 4/4!edit: In throws!Don't jinx it!
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted March 28, 2016 Author Posted March 28, 2016 Top of the 3rd starts with a Bux single.

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted March 28, 2016 Author Posted March 28, 2016 Woohoo ... Arcia doing what he's paid to do ... double to score Bux. 2-1 Twins.
big dog Verified Member Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 0-1 pitch, Arcia had a nice swing, didn't try to kill it, laced it off the wall in right. Beautiful swing. Buxton scored easily from first.
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Arcia sitting on, and crushing an offspeed pitch from Cole. A mistake by Cole there, no reason to throw Arcia anything but the heat. Twins up 2-1.

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted March 28, 2016 Author Posted March 28, 2016 Well, so much for having stuff to do around home ... got distracted and just checked the score ... when did that happen? Yeah, and don't say 'When you were doing stuff around home.' Answers to rhetorical questions aren't funny ... unless I'm answering them.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Buxton was caught stealing? Bad jump, not fast, best throw ever, really a pickoff? Why can't this guy steal at a higher success rate?
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted March 28, 2016 Author Posted March 28, 2016 Well, this might cost Kintzler a job ...
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted March 28, 2016 Author Posted March 28, 2016 Yes! Out at the plate!
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted March 28, 2016 Author Posted March 28, 2016 Well ... followed by a dp, and those back to back walks to start the inning didn't cause damage.
