diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 According to hardball times at least. That's an odd fit. I'd be curious what his role would be in that scenario.

Didn't Ryan, Gardy or someone else say that Gardy was offered a Twins front office job after his dismissal but he instead wanted to try to find another managerial gig? So is the Twins offer off the table, or is Gardy not interested?
Kwak Verified Member Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 He would be in charge of the bowling league and sunflower seeds.
spinowner Provisional Member Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 He would be the manager-in-waiting if Andy Green winds up not working out.
Minniman Verified Member Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 Does that mean San Diego would bat their eighth worst hitter in the second slot just to keep the third and fourth guy in place? SD is San Diego right - not South Dakota or Shaggy Dog's Bar?
theBOMisthebomb Verified Member Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 Seems like Gardy would make a good assistant coach somewhere. His ineptitude the last few years of his Twins career must have left quite a stain on his resume. We should not take Gardy back to the Twins organization under any circumstances.

Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 Green would probably get at least two years in the dugout regardless of how the Padres do. I think Gardy will be managing somewhere before those two years are up (I've been wrong about this before And yes managing a baseball team not a bowling team. It sounded ridiculous to me at first, but I guess Gardy could use a front office opportunity to educate himself and meet some new people employed by another organization, and not just shooting the **** in a tv studio with a bunch of retired guys, waiting for his number to be called. Though I still can't picture Gardy sitting in an office every day for too long.
gunnarthor Old-Timey Member Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 I'd like Gardy and Ozzie Guillen to be the play by play guys on mlbtv or espn or something. The censor might break his finger beeping every other word but those two would be a hoot together.
