Yeah, I don't think there's going to be much to laugh about with this one. They're now saying 'largest storm ever recorded.'

It's gonna be bad. We're preparing for major flooding here in Austin, and we're not even on the path of the hurricane.

We get a major typhoon (same thing as a hurricane) every year in Taiwan so these things are usually normal for me but that storm is ridiculous.  Because of the frequency of storms here there are no wood houses and very few steel frame structures.  Concrete can withstand these types of storms but this storm could be really devastating to Mexico.  We can only hope that the damage is minimal but this looks really, really bad.

Wow, with respect to the 6 people that lost their lives, that could have been a lot worse. Very fortunate that storm hit in such an sparsely populated area of Mexico and never had the chance to create a significant storm surge.
