Ideal eating day:

2 breakfast tacos to start the morning - Bacon, egg, and cheese... Or chorizo, egg, peppers, cheese

Mid-morning snack: Iced coffee with coffee cake.

Lunch: A greasy, delicious burger loaded up, curly fries as a side

Happy Hour snack: Nachos, fried calamari, mozzarella sticks

Dinner: Delicious pizza - too many options for restaurants, but since I've been going hard all day, I'll choose a place with a good thin crust.

Dessert: Strawberry sundae

Before bed: Cinnamon roll

I'm checking flights, connection might be tight.

I admit, I don't know if they have poutine, let me check. But, might be some of the best nachos ever. And beer.....

You can get cheese curds on your poutine.....just sayin'

Yeah, but they aren't deep fried, you know, coated in batter and dunked in hot oil.

Can I come?

You do know that you'll be on the TD Party Train when we all head out en masse to pay Mike a visit, right? You'll have to drive down to Fargo to hitch a ride, but that's doable, I hope.

Just iced coffee? Why not go with a Vietnamese or Thai iced coffee?

Happy Friday!

Today is National Penuche Fudge Day! Penuche is a fudge-like candy made from brown sugar, butter, vanilla and milk.  North should like this since it tastes like maple!

Today is also National Hammock Day! That sounds pretty relaxing right now... Right next to a body of water, under the shade, perhaps reading a book. One weird fact about me: I've never been able to fall asleep in a hammock.

Finally, on this day in 1934, notorious American gangster John Dillinger was shot and killed trying to flee police after leaving the Biograph Theater in ChiTown.

Happy Tuesday!

Today is National Bagelfest Day! A day where you're supposed to consume and enjoy more than 1 bagel. It's been a while since I had a great bagel. What's your favorite flavor of bagel, and what do you top it off with in the morning?

Today is also National Coffee Milkshake Day! I love coffee, and I love milkshakes. I think I can handle this holiday!

Finally, on this day in 1951, Disney premiered their 13th animated film,"Alice in Wonderland"!

Not really much of a bagel eater, but when I do it's either a plain bagel or an everything bagel ... all or nothing, I guess. Oh, and toasted.

Plain cream cheese, usually; occasionally the chive one; and low-fat if there is that choice.

Good morning! It's raining in Austin today, so for all of the drivers on the highway, it's National Punch the Brakes because it's raining day.

For "real" holidays, we have a couple of good choices:

Today is National Creme Brulee Day! I've had creme brulee only a few times in my life, but I do recall it tasting great!

Today is also National Scotch Day! CC to Brock... Scotch is one of those acquired tastes that I have yet to acquire in life. There are lots of alcohols I love, but scotch unfortunately isn't one of them.

Finally, on this day in history.... In 1996 it was not a good day for our country. Centennial Olympic Park was bombed at midnight outside an outdoor music venue while people were having a good time celebrating the start of the Olympic Games.

On a positive note, in 1940 Warner Brothers debuted the movie "A Wild Hare" which featured a character that generations of people know today.. That character is Bugs Bunny!

We've got some goodies to end the week on!

Today is National Lasagna Day! Mmm Mmm do I love me some lasagna. Chicken lasagna is actually my go-to date dinner if I'm looking to impress a special someone with my cooking skills. Speaking of chicken....

Today is also National Chicken Wing Day! Let's hope in honor of this day we can celebrate with some chicken dinnah! tonight. What's your favorite sauce to toss in with the chicken wings?

Today is also National Lipstick Day! Little known fact provided by the website: Former President George Washington used to wear lipstick. And now you know!

Finally, on this day in 1981, 700 million people world wide watched Prince George and Lady Diana Spencer tie the knot. Known as the "Wedding of the Century".

There's a place near where I live called 'Wingers'.  Their menu/food is pretty bad (for example, their ribs...horrible), but their wings?  Oh my. They make their own sauce and they are the best wings I've ever had.

There's a place here in Austin called Pluckers where the size of their wings makes Buffalo Wild Wings look like popcorn chicken. Since it's a national holiday, maybe I'll head there for lunch today!

That's impressive cause the wings at the BWW I live near are pretty big.  Pluckers must have some Bedrock chickens they aren't sharing with the rest of the world.  Rat bastards! :-)

Any time is a good time for lasagna in my book.

"Best" lasagna ever was when my awesome wife made it for me and my friends that were at the coldest beer fest ever a few years ago........coming home to that was great.

Okay, now I know why depictions of him in paintings always give him such smooth, red lips. The depictions are accurate portrayals then. But did he wear rouge then, too?

Who knows, I wouldn't put it past ol' Georgey to wear rouge lipstick. Judging by the painting maybe he put a little blush makeup on his cheeks too.
