there is so much amazing sausage in the world, no idea why someone with any money would eat spam.

The breakfast buffets in European hotels have these best meats and cheeses ... omg ...

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Today is National Rainier Cherry Day! This should be right in Mike's wheelhouse as these cherries are grown in the Pacific NW. I should have looked ahead as I bought cherries yesterday at the grocery store.... Just not Rainier Cherries.

Today is also National Blueberry Muffin Day! It's not often that I have muffins these days, but if I do, blueberry is the best available option, IMO.

Today is also National Mojito Day! I celebrated this one day too early... A mojito was very refreshing yesterday during Sunday funday at the bar.

Finally. today is National All American Pet Photo Day! So keep your camera within reaching distance, and take a bunch of pictures of your pets today!

I bought cherries yesterday, but also did not buy Raniers......fruit right off the vines/trees is so good....

I love a good mojito. Going to have to celebrate that one.

Cherries yes; no ideas what kind. Red.

Mojitos will have to wait a week.

You've already seen pictures of my boys. :)

Maddux

Penny

Happy Pet Photo Day!!

Awww, they've grown up so big. <3 I love how Maddux crosses his legs ... and btw, unless Penny is short for Pennant, I think she feels bad about her name. ;)

It's short for Penelope, but don't tell my wife that. She didn't like that, which is why we settled on Penny! I figured Penelope was the perfect spoiled white girl name, so that worked for a pampered white poodle.

Good morning! Hope you all enjoyed a nice mojito on the deck, balcony, or in your backyard yesterday.

Today is National Pecan Pie Day! I love me some pecan pie! One of the major benefits of moving down south....

Today is also National Max Scherzer Day! AKA National Different Colored Eyes Day... I don't know anyone personally that has different colored eyes. Do you?

Today is also National Eat Your Jello Day! Or for Chief, today is Tuesday.....

Finally, on this day in 1862, the Medal of Honor was created by President Lincoln to honor Army personnel who went above and beyond the call of duty.

Lol on the Chief/jello comment. Priceless.

I, too, love me some pecan pie. If I weren't going to a bachelor/bachelorette party tonight, I'd make some and eat some. Warm. With whipped cream on top.

I've been making lots of jello lately; sugar-free, cherry flavored. Yeah, not the healthiest thing, but it's cool and tasty and sweet. Nice for hot summer days, which we've had lots of lately.

Today is the day we go to one of those travel sales meetings, to get our free trip to SF.....all for the low low price of saying no for 90 minutes.....wish us luck!

Want us to prepare you on saying no?

Here's some test questions for you:

Would you trade Dozier for Johan Santana today?

Do you want Vance Worley back on the Twins?

Would you like raw onions on your salad at lunch?

Love me some pecan pie, but it has to be made with maple syrup.

Not a Jello guy, just don't get it, unless we're talking about the pudding variety. Does that count?

Scherzer freaks me out, he looks like that demented dog that always looks like he's going to bite you.

Ahem. I object to this statement. Two things: first of all, I think heterochromia is beautiful (and no, spellcheck, I don't mean petrochemical), and secondly,

My eyes change color, so I would guess I have a chance to have different colored eyes at times, but I've never noticed it.

That would mean you have hazel eyes. There are a few out there who have very distinct different colored eyes. I've only seen the one green and one blue variety.

Today is National French Fry Day! There are so many different ways to break down french fries.. Let's first start with the style of french fry in a ranked list:

- curly

- waffle

- standard fast food cut

- wedges

- chips style (like in fish and chips)

- crinkle

- getting hit by a car

- Smiley face fries

Hot take: Are tator tots considered fries?? Your thoughts.

Today is also National Franks N' Beans Day! I can honestly say it's been a good 15 years since I had Franks N Beans... Maybe today should be the day I try it out again!

Wasn't sure since tots are in the potato family... And also fried.

Next topic: Best fast-food chain to get fries.... Go.

Well, hash browns are also in the potato family, but aren't fries either. I'd actually put tater tots in the hash brown family over the fry family. Or, just another way to cook potatoes. :)

If you have not tried roesti previously, drop everything and get some.

For those of us in the seven county mosquito control district, The Original Pancake House is an excellent source.
