DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 I feel like I have said this a dozen times in the past week: there is room for everybody at least until Buxton comes back. Even after Buxton, it would be nice to actually have good players to fill the roster. Imagine the Twins actually having not one, but two legitimate bench players! Oh, the humanity!Yeah I think having Santana, Nunez and Escobar all on the roster is overkill. You only need two IMO, one to start, one to back up. Plouffe, Mauer and Dozier should be playing near every day and never PH for anyways. You can use that open spot eventually for arcia, though I would like to see him show a little more consistency prior.
Linus Verified Member Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 I really don't understand the love for Ossie if you throw him a cookie he'll mash it. Other than that he's a liability. Not suited to be an occasional bench bat.

Not suited to be an occasional bench bat. Which is why he won't replace Robinson at the moment. He's actually in a fine spot, getting everyday reps and providing depth for about 6 positions, to replace if there is an injury.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 Robinson will survive the season IMHO. Well suited to bench duty with occasional starts. Capable in all three outfield positions with good speed. Sure, bring up Arcia if there is some way to get him in the lineup (Plouffe's paternity leave), but he is a poor choice for "bench bat". BTW, we'll probably see "Sugar Shane" start a game or two on the road trip since the Twins will be facing three lefties in the next five games.
