Do you guys think that Gibson can expect a higher K rate going forward after today's start??  I know he had a decent K rate in the minors but it seems to have completely disappeared up in the bigs.  Can he keep it up?  or was this an abberation?

I'm guessing aberration.  I didn't expect him to keep his ridiculously low K rate all year, but I don't expect him to suddenly transform into something he has never been, either.

My opinion , Gibson pitched about as well as he could, hit almost all his spots, went in and out, up and down, slider was working great when he kept it low, reminded me of Liriano, but from the right side.......then that change up, if he can repeat this, his K rate will go up dramatically, but not consistently like today..........I think the Sox are a free swinging team, so I think that helped, IMO

His minor league K rate was over 8.  I have to think that he should be able to consistently get 6-7k/9 in the majors.

What works in the MiLB doesn't always translate to the MLB.  It's the MLB version of the "KISS" theory.  He's using what he's got to get MLB hitters out.

I imagine so.  Hard to believe it could get lower.  Really only one way to go at this point.

I would think he could bring it up, but he's not Kershaw.
