I predict the Twins do absolutely nothing offensively for at least 3 more innings, just in time for me to go to the In-laws.

Bring a pocket radio and conveniently get stuck in the bathroom for a couple of hours. That way you won't miss anything (unless game threads count as something).

I think Dick and Roy believe that the baseball game is incidental to their banter.

Kind of like a game thread ... ;)

Yeah, they are used to that out of me.

side note, why in the world is Suzuki batting cleanup?

Plouffe was there and Suzuki 5th, but when Plouffe didn't make it to the game on time there was shuffling. I'd rather have Suzuki there than Bernier, but, well ...

I wouldn't bat Suzuki 5th either... but that's me :)

Any reason Hicks isn't in the Rochester Lineup?

A day off? I haven't heard anything.

And glunn started a thread or two. The one that caught my eye, and really made me laugh to be honest, was the one started with this in the OP: 'Where is Seth?' That was it. Really Glunn, you couldn't even name one starting pitcher?

In those days our standards were very low.  It was not until RB invented the current format (and raised expectations) that game threads became art.  Before RB, we were all struggling to arise from the primordial slime.

Thanks for the history ChiTown.  This was an excellent idea that you executed well.  It was interesting and brought back fond memories of a culture that was in the process of evolving.

Also, I want to echo the Mother's Day sentiments that have been expressed.  I miss my mom every day, and urge everyone whose mother is living to make the most of your ability to communicate your love.

I wonder if the pink bats are ... inferior in any way

The first thing I wondered at the beginning of the game was if we should switch completely over to pink bats. :P

Heh ... I guess given what it was ... Plouffe 4th, Suzuki 5th, and the rest as is minus Bernier. So they inserted Benier where they did and pushed Suzuki and Esco and Rosario up.

To be fair to you, glunn, you did put the lineups in the 2nd post, but saying that didn't make for good copy.

Noo. You'd think I was listening to Cleveland's announcers the way Kris is so excited. He always roots for the opponents. Even Hawk Harrelson is funner to listen to that Kris. At least he knows who his team is.

Well, it does look like the Indians, playing the Indians.
