sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 Oh well. Tied game following a couple o' hits, perhaps with an assist to Rosario for letting the ball get away from him. (Some theme of 'infielders in the outfield' here isn't quite accurate, but isn't quite off base?)
Gibby Provisional Member Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 Sorry for the length ... I was really intending to go with brevity, but, history just isn't brief! I thought that was great.
Patrick Midthun Verified Member Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 Mauer needs to come up with that ball.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 Uh oh ... cmon Trevor, pull it together. Concur. (once i figured out you meant May, not Plouffe)
70charger Verified Member Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 Gotta love the strikeouts! Sit down, Swisher.
Gibby Provisional Member Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 Nicely done both ChiTown and brian! Off topic but I caught a little Ghostbusters last week and this scene made me think of ChiTown. http://images.classicalite.com/data/images/full/4586/celloweaver-jpg.jpg?w=600 Because of the cello, or the smirk?
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 Because of the cello, or the smirk?Cue Chief-esc response in 3...2...
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 alright... tie game. Let's go for 19-13...
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 BTW, side question, why isn't Plouffe in the lineup?
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted May 10, 2015 Author Posted May 10, 2015 Because of the cello, or the smirk? Both. Winston has me pegged just right. Edit: Did it again. Yes.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted May 10, 2015 Author Posted May 10, 2015 BTW, side question, why isn't Plouffe in the lineup? He was at a memorial service for his grandfather and his plane didn't get him back to Cleveland on time.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted May 10, 2015 Author Posted May 10, 2015 I edited the OP lineups to reflect the actual vs the intended.
Gibby Provisional Member Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 Both. Winston has me pegged just right.Edit: Did it again. Yes. I was pretty confident, that was the case.
formerly33 Verified Member Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 Happy Mother's Day, all you mothers who happen to read this! Especially you, ChiTown, since you did the game thread today. I picked out a picture just for you:
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted May 10, 2015 Author Posted May 10, 2015 Heh, is that a baby Dozier? And Santana ... NICE play, just really NICE!
70charger Verified Member Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 I'm getting guilted into going to dinner. Apparently it's mothers day. Who knew!? Catch you all later.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted May 10, 2015 Author Posted May 10, 2015 That was not on Suzuki, I don't think. Not so nice play for Santana on that one.
Gibby Provisional Member Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 Every baseball playing kid on the planet practices the incredible play. I love Smalley, but he makes me miss Bert.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted May 10, 2015 Author Posted May 10, 2015 I have the Cleveland feed here, so no Dick and Smalley for me.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 Surprised it is tied. I thought Cleveland was going to do a lot more damage in that 1st inning. CBU: 1-1 after 2
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted May 10, 2015 Author Posted May 10, 2015 In the pre-game the announcers were saying the Indians just need to find a way to win. Well, duh, isn't that the point of the game, to win?
Gibby Provisional Member Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 Every baseball playing kid on the planet practices the incredible play. I love Smalley, but he makes me miss Bert. I'll even dog it on a fly ball in beer-league, just so I can dive.
Gibby Provisional Member Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 I have the Cleveland feed here, so no Dick and Smalley for me. It's not what he says, it's how many ways he feels he needs to say it.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted May 10, 2015 Author Posted May 10, 2015 Surprised it is tied. I thought Cleveland was going to do a lot more damage in that 1st inning. CBU: 1-1 after 2Yeah, I think that's what the Cleveland announcers meant ... they are not taking more advantage ... But I went more snarky with it.
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 I have the Cleveland feed here, so no Dick and Smalley for me. I think that makes you lucky... doesn't it?
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted May 10, 2015 Author Posted May 10, 2015 I think that makes you lucky... doesn't it?Heh ...
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 It's not what he says, it's how many ways he feels he needs to say it.Sounds like a job for... the Thesaurus. But of course, redundancy has its uses.
ashbury Verified Member Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 I see Salazar has a perfect game going. Nine straight retired after three innings. Hope we don't get shut out.
formerly33 Verified Member Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 I think that makes you lucky... doesn't it?I'm sorry to say that Kris Atteberry is the most annoying of them all. It figures that I'm the one listening to the game. Why don't you try Cleveland's radio with the sound turned down on the TV? As a general rule the radio announcers are better. Unless you do indeed feel lucky listening to Cleveland's TV broadcasters.
