May and Arcia   though I have to correct you about Gibson.    He wasn't sometimes good and sometimes bad.   He was sometimes Sandy Koufax great and sometimes Pelfrey bad.

Hughes and Vargas.  I'm going with Vargas because, if he's the MVP it means he turned into the cleanup hitter the Twins haven't had since Morneau left, and Twins will make it to .500

My prediction is not too exciting. Phil Hughes and Joe Mauer.

Phil will have 220IP and a around a K per inning. His ERA will end up around 3.15-3.05. He builds off his breakout season and finishes in the top 5 in the AL in Cy Young Voting.

Mauer bounces back and hits .328 with 51 Doubles in 630PA's. Oddly, he bats in over a 100 runners and scores over 100 runs. I get that does not mean too much metrically, but it happens and Twins Fans are A-Okay with it. Who would have thought?

For MVP I am hoping that Mauers late season was him re-learning hitting after having his brain injury and that he will continue to grow on that, I also hope Molitor will put him in the number 2 spot where he belongs. If he can return to form and continue to improve his defensive play at 1B it will be huge for the team.

As for pitcher, that's tougher. I'm looking for May to grab the 5th starter job and Pelfry to land in the bullpen. This could be golden for him. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that moving to the bullpen re-makes Pelfry's career and he is the Twins MVP out of the pen.
