Got to like the numbers:

 

3.63 ERA with 8.8 K/9, 2.9 BB/9 and a 46.3 percent ground-ball rate the past two years in the Padres' bullpen.

Can we have his 2010 season, with 0 starts, and a better SO percentage?

 

His WHIP from 2014 is little concerning, but I suppose for 2.2M, it's par for the course.

Parmalee has been outrighted to AAA.  I guess that means he went unclaimed and chose to accept the assignment. 

 

Also Fryer was outrighted meaning the backup C has to be Pinto.

Stauffer's FIP of 3.02 is identical for both 2010 and 2014.

 

His K% and K/9 were never higher than in 2014. Unlike most RPs, he has a bevy of pitching options and a nice change-up- lots for Neal Allen to work with.

 

The 2014 outlying BABIP of.356 accounts for quite a bit of that WHIPsaw.

The way things stand now, Hughes, Santana, Nolasco and Gibson appear to be locks for the rotation. Perkins, Fien, Stauffer, and Duensing are locks for the bullpen.  I would say Thielbar is a lock, too, even though I disagree that they need two LOOGYs or that Thielbar is a LOOGY.  That leaves 3 slots for Pelfrey, Milone, May, Meyer, Pressley, Tonkin, and Oliveros.

I actually was prepared to get blown up for hastily looking at his basic stats from last season and posting -  I'm just bummed out it was on something as basic as his BABIP. Anyways, I had my pants pulled down and ready for the paddle, you so handily delivered.
