So, The Orioles were unable/unwiling to retain Markakis, Nelson Cruz, and Delmon - and they missed out on Melky Cabrera and Torii Hunter. They have to be in the market to sign Alex Rios and/or Colby Rasmus now, right?

Considering how much they love Twins players, isn't Chris Parmelee a lock for Baltimore?  I know I've seen a couple of Chris Davis comparisons on this site before.

Rumblings are getting stronger and stronger that they're willing to meet the Braves' demands on Justin Upton, which could be huge for the Braves (rumors were that the Braves were wanting Chance Sisco, one of Bundy/Harvey, and another piece from the Orioles for Upton, which initially sent the Orioles running).

I'll never understand anyone selling the farm for one year of a player.  I'd never do that unless I had a window to negotiate an extension as well.

I've read that San Diego is also still in the running for Upton. . . will be interesting to see who offers the best deal, or if Atlanta decides to wait.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have agreed to a one-year, $10 million deal with left-hander Brett Anderson, with $4m in possible incentives.

Rios to the Royals. One year/$11 million. Who wants this over Torri?

Torii has certainly been consistently better with the stick, although that is subject to change with 39-40 year olds. Alex is probably faster and better in the field, although ankle injuries don't tend to help there.

I don't see enough difference between the two to really worry about it. The Twins were able to get Torii to sign to play here. Hard to know if Rios would have been interested. Pretty clear that it would've taken more than 1/$11M.

I think both got more $$ than I would've expected. Same for Brett Anderson.

Today the club acquired OF Matt Joyce from the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for RHP Kevin Jepsen.

Everbody sitting down? The Yankees signed Cris Capuano for another year.

That team looks like a train wreck.  What a disaster.  How long are they going to be able to resist the urge not to bid on Scherzer or Shields?  I'd love for either to go there as I think both of them are time bombs.

Just an insurance policy if Tanaka can't start the season.

Still just ... Wow. "@BlairKerkhoff: Kendrys Morales: '15 $6.5 mil, '16 $9 mil, '17 $11 mil or $1.5 buyout on mutual opt w/ $750K per yr ”

That deal makes my brain hurt.

The Yankees are on the Boras's speed dial when things start to get interesting (teams are bidding) for Scherzer.  I think they have to be the favorites to land him and Boras is waiting for most of the mid level starters to sign so teams don't have other options.

Cleveland would be better off getting Cliff Floyd from MLB.tv :D

Floyd was very good for Atlanta before a freak bone break ended his season.  I think a lot of people saw elbow, and they assumed ligament/muscle issues, but it's something that should be fine after healing.  He had his highest ERA+ and really, do you think the AL Central is really going to hurt his numbers?

Well, it might be more formidable this year than it was in the past - Melky, LaRoche, Abreu from Chicago; Arcia, Vargas, Mauer, Dozier, (Sano?) from the Twins; Miggy, V-Mart, Cespedes from Detroit; Gordon, Rios, Morales in theory can all hurt a pitchers numbers in a hurry.  Cleveland has a good middle of the order group too, though Floyd won't have to worry about that.
