The only defensible reason is that at some point journalists have to have proof otherwise it is libel.

He's right about Goodell, but a good rule of thumb is not to threaten your bosses.

In fairness (and god do I despise that you made me post this) - they did run an OTL exposing cover ups by the Ravens just a few days ago.

 

That said, this is an awesome move for Simmons to make ESPN look pathetic.  And anyone that makes ESPN look bad is doing good work in my book.  Now just take Grantland and be your own thing Simmons.

Also, ESPN similiarily suspended someone for going after Bud Selig a few years back. So, at least their consistent. Simmons should be proud of his suspension.
