OK, that was awesome. Marny was interviewing Colabello's parents during his at-bat, and Marney said maybe he'll hit a home run. About a second before he hit it. Then she started screaming (in a lovely, controlled way). She also said he hit two on her birthday once in college. 2/3 of the way to my 3-spot, don't stop now!

-- the "she" was Chris' Mom. Dick and Bert were nearly screaming too.

The Cola story just keeps getting better and better. In the made for TV movie, Mom will call that HR.

What the heck? This collabello guy might be for real.

Yeah, I'm very glad to apparently wrong about him. That wasn't to right field, either.

This Colabello story is awesome. How long can he keep it up? The longer he does it the more I believe.

Not to step on this nice sentiment, but that's (bold) usually how it goes, right?

Actually, as a Minnesotan, the longer things go well, the more you look for the inevitable other shoe to come crashing down. It's genetic.

Yeah... We needed that out at 2nd.

Pelfrey has been alright. So far it ain't his fault.

I'm an unabashed Pelfrey apologist, but he's really struggling tonight.

That said, you're right...if Mauer doesn't throw high to second, Pelfrey still hasn't given up an earned run tonight.

Ya, not the wisest thing of me to say. Meant to say that eventually i'll be all in on him if he keeps it up for a much longer.

Stories like Colabello are one of the things that make baseball the greatest game ever invented. Sure, you get unexpected phenoms in other sports too, but it never seems to have the same charm that a baseball story does.

See, and I just knew someone would lampoon me after that.

See what I did there? :P

Well played sir.

And yes, I did see.

But I'll most likely miss the next one.

After the five straight 's, who saw this coming?

Nobody.

Or everybody.

Hard to tell.

Ahem...let's get 3, this guy isn't that tough? Posted at the inning break?

Offensive production from the center field spot, weird.

I was picking up sticks in my backyard once... When a squirrel ran through and grabbed a stick and ran with it into the neighbors yard. Sometimes you get help from unlikely sources.
