    Do not know who was prior union rep. I cant see this FO or Pohlad's making decisions like that. Speaking of new CBA, has anyone seen complete copy? Summaries I've seen offer some intriguing tidbits tucked into the nether regions of the doc, but cannot find a complete copy anywhere. Anybody else?

    Yes , but Buehler has a record, getting busted taking a non-permissive day off at Wrigley. Never should have caught that foul. Somebody like that a couple of low A suspects should get it done.

    Not sure how Ober's development is served moving to BP if that is what will happen. He earned a shot to further establish himself in mid-rotation. I would not be slotting Paddack ahead of Ober. Paddack now joins Bundy and Archer in line, and hopefully none of those three prove detrimental to developing the Winders/Balz's et al.

    Interesting, hoping they can squeeze some juice from the fruit. Or convert Padduck, Paddock, Paddeck, Paddlick, Paddoch,...whats his name.....to BP.....whatever, it matters little, this pitching staff is built for entertainment and not in a good way. A Correa/Rogers package in July would have been interesting. Cie la vie.

    Agree with others this is great article. Jeffers is a hope- for guy, and I believe he will settle in. I look for his defense to continue to improve, if he can reach 250 and 20hr's that would be a succesful season. Someone mentioned Baneulos in AAA, absolutely agree we will see him this season. I have hopes Jeffers-Banuelos stabilize the position for next 3-4 yrs.

    Agree with this. Add Sanchez too as another poster noted. Defensive questions are bigger than offense for Larnach- the dropoff last year after the foot injury was so dramatic. Kiriloff and Larnach...1b and OF...K and L boys. I see them as two related pieces. I believe in these two for their offense, Kiriloff can be a very good 1b, Larnach is the defensive ?. So yeah , agreed that FO needs to figure out what to do with Sano, would rather we move on from him and create room for these guys. Easier said than done though.

    If I had to guess, I'd say that Celestino will start the year in AAA - and if Buxton goes on the IL (yes, I specifically chose the word 'if' instead of 'when'; hope springs eternal), Celestino will be called up. Celestino could be the call up for anyone in the OF, really. To give Buxton a day off here and there, I think Gordon will be the fill in. Again, just my guess based on everything that's been said in these forums and articles. While Celestino didn't have a stellar time up in the majors last year, he was really up prematurely, imo, having no time in AAA. Toward the last half of the season in AAA, he seemed to really be picking up steam. Agreed. The CF backup is a question mark, but I would like to see Gordon have a chance when needed. Looking forward to Celestino's progress, if he can increase onbase he could help thus summer as 4th OF and backup to Buck. If not give Gordon a chance.

    So true. It's gonna hurt to nab Montas, or Castillo....not sleeping on Reds still making a move if return is good. It'll start with Lewis or Martin plus 2 more for either of those two. But if Twins are swinging for the fences gotta swing hard.

    Very creative. I would love to see these types if deals standardized, high AAV's, generous opt-outs, would create roster churn every year but great fun for fans, and allows for Twins et. al. to sign a Big Boy once in awhile. Sure, Boras wants his full cut next year, so what. This was a perfect storm and Twins did not fail to take advantage. Good on ownership to accept the (limited) risk but big $$, and FO to make it work. It's a Twins type of deal that actually makes sense. Just stunned Boras and Correa worked it out with Twins.......what's next, world peace? Always hope?

    Nick outlines the main points well, it really is wait and see....this trade value is too connected to whatever comes next to draw anu conclusions right now. I am worried abt catcher, although interesting to see Oak traded for an Atl catcher....if we're working on an Oak deal maybe that could expand ,beyond SP? As Nick says, it will be fun to see how this plays out.

    Their career WHIPS are both 1.22, FWIW. I dont think the two are exactly apples to apples, but if Gray stays healthy, he is a Berrios-esque SP for the Twins for the next two years, at better value. Gray stabilizes the SP staff but does not add value relative to a Berrios. The major difference between them is age and contract, and only time will tell if it works out longer term. Berrios seems more durable, it's been 7 years since Gray reached 200 innings, but pitching in NL obviously had a lot to do with that. Overall, it seems the Twins are leveraging their prospect pool for more favorable contracts with Berrios and Donaldson trades. At best, they stabilized the SP staff and roster, but I dont see where we are adding value either positionally (and in the catching dept, have probably subtracted value), or in SP. If they land another competent SP, they will have a fighting chance at .500, but I cant see much more than that. I dont see this as much a FO issue as an ownership issue, restricting value and length of contracts seems to me to be ownership decision, not FO decision, but that is speculative on my part. Whatever it is, the new CBA seems a lot like the old already.

    This is the crux of the matter. They can make a committment....will it be to a pitcher or IF. ? Seems Story is the logical piece, but I like your comment that maybe Bryant would be considered. And then Pineda-esque FA for SP staff. Idea for Yanks: Max to Yanks for their LH bat, convert to 1B, Twins get Gil back.

Stunned that another team thought he had any value. With Sano and Sanchez in the same lineup, they won’t need A/C in MN this summer.

    Great to have an explainer on this, and a good idea to reduce injuries. But then I wonder why is homebase flush and 1-3 raised? Flush bases would seem safer for wrist, ankle, calf, hammy injuries. Heres sone interesting from espn 2014, this is not a recent issue.
