  1. Agreed, can't even listen to it either :/
  2. No Kepler today with a lefty scheduled to be on the mound tomorrow night for Boston and again on Sunday with Sale(?) I think, doesn't make sense
  3. I was going to say his swing looks pretty long in the zone, so those inside pitches are still giving him trouble and probably always will
  4. Mike, have you not been watching the games? Serious question, I know you live in the NW but I was just wondering. They have not been throwing Buck a whole lot of strikes but I will say that he is laying off A LOT more junk than he was the first few weeks. Especially the soft/breaking stuff down and away.
  5. I think our 1/1 draft pick this year will be in the mix late next season. I'm thinking McKay
  6. The real question is: will he fetch anything at the deadline if he somehow manages a sub 2 ERA despite the peripherals saying otherwise?
  7. This is going to make a huge difference for J.O, IMO.
  8. One bright spot is Adrianza playing LF today! Let's hope that means what we all are hoping for.....no more DanSan!!
  9. What happens to Dozier if Gordon reaches his potential and is up next year? Would he ever be open to a position change? 1B? 3B? Or could Polanco slide to 3B with Gordon at SS? I like Dozier and you need some veteran guys like him to help the young guys grow.
  10. First well-hit ball I have seen Santana hit in a long time
  11. Looks like the decision to play Esco worked out . We are looking good so far! Timely hitting
  12. 3 fastballs in the zone and Buck doesn't do anything with any of them.... not good
  13. That ball 4 pitch should've been strike 3 IMO
  14. How hard do you guys think Duffey would throw if he were in the pen?
  15. Let him relieve when he comes back, he'll be 28 and the younger guys SHOULD be arrived by then. His arm will probably be stronger, maybe he'll be able to run it up to 97-98
  16. Would the FO ever consider Dozier at 3B? Would he fair better there than Polanco? If you keep Dozier I think that is an idea they need to try out, sign or trade for a defensive first SS and slide Polanco to 2B, Sano to DH
  17. I too think they will trade Sano because they have too many players that play the same positions, that combined with the reports of his work ethic and poor defense, etc. I think we see Plouffe return at 3rd, sigh, and Mauer/Park/Vargas at 1B and DH next year. I do not think they will give up on Buxton, yet.
  18. Let the staff finish out the year and then clean house. Tank for the #1 overall pick or hope Schwarz falls to #2 next June, if not, take a college arm that can hopefully fast track to the majors
  19. The thing with Byron, and it has been pointed out on here before, is he has only played 313 games in his minor league career! 313! that is less then two full major league seasons. He has played a total of 109 games in the high minors, 59 at AA and 50 at AAA. The kid needs more time, plain and simple. He is one of the most talented players in all of baseball, let the kid develop. It's not like he played in the SEC for 2-3 seasons where he saw good pitching. He was rushed, plain and simple, blame the FO more than Byron. His AAA numbers are good, 67-198 or .338, he is ONLY 22. He will come around, let him sit in AAA all of next year too, bring him up beginning of 2018 or as a Sept. call up next year. If he is still struggling this badly at that time, then I would start to worry. His confidence has to be absolutely destroyed because I highly doubt he as ever struggled this badly in his life at any sport, and he has faced heavy criticism. Just my 2 cents...
  20. That alone should be enough of an argument to put him in the Hall, the most demanding position in the sport and he was also an MVP, he was forced to move from catcher, how can anyone hold that against him?
  21. I think Dozier is worth more than Beede and Garcia IMO
  22. Thought Carpenter was at 3B?
  23. I think the biggest problem the Twins would face in trading Dozier is finding someone who needs him, second base is the deepest it's been in a long time. I just don't see any struggling team trading for him. With that said, I would look at the Dodgers and the Cardinals as potential fits. Dozier would be an upgrade over Utley or Kendrick and Wong in STL is struggling badly this year. LAD gets: Dozier MIN gets: De Leon (RHP) and Smith/Barnes (catcher) plus a lotto ticket is what I would be asking for. De Leon is major league ready and a top 50 prospect. Barnes is getting somewhat old at 26, Smith is only 21 and at A Adv already after getting drafted this year. Maybe they throw in a guy like Brock Stewart (#14 prospect for LA) who is at AAA and has been very impressive in the minor this year going 9-3 with a 1.75 ERA, .195 avg against and a WHIP of .85. STL gets: Dozier MIN gets: I would ask for Weaver (#92 in the top 100) and catching prospect Kelly (#11 in their system). Both guys are at AAA and could contribute as early as next season. Maybe take a flier on a guy like Marco Gonzales, a former 1st rounder who has had some injury issues but was once a promising prospect. Thoughts?
