I died laughing at the eyes closed, stab at the ball technique. I'm pretty sure I used that same form when I was 8 and my dad was first hitting pop ups to me in the backyard. I'm not very concerned about any of the other trends mentioned in the thread. Well, not any more than I was before the season started. But I really enjoy watching Escobar hit doubles. He could keep doing that.
Maybe Nolasco is having a better Spring but I think Duffy earned the right to fail/succeed in the regular season. I hope Nolasco pitches well and proves me wrong but I don't like the process either way.
I don't think I was mistakenly disappointed by Dozier's 2nd half (or post ASB). He went from pre-ASB of .256/.328/.513 to post-ASB of .210/.280/.359. He went from peak Torii Hunter in the 1st half to peak Al Newman in the 2nd. That seems worthy of criticism, yeah?
I wish Best Buy would give out free iPads and AT&T would give out free phones. Unfortunately none of the above are ever happening. But I'd much rather the players get paid these crazy amounts than the owners. I've never gone to Target Field to see a Pohlad but I've done it several times to see Sano already.
I can understand the comparison from the pov that they both succeeded in foreign professional leagues and we have no clue how that success translates. Other than that neither of them have ever been in my kitchen.
