  1. Ha okay then. Good internetting.
  2. Reminds me of the conference championship game in 9th grade (okay, first playoff game) . I made a diving catch in CF (okay, it was just a flyball to the gap but I did have to range SEVERAL feet to my right) and I went 4-5 with 3 RBI in a 2 run game (okay, I think it was really 2-4 with 2 seeing eye singles and 1 RBI and I think we won by 4?). On top of all of that I was very, very good looking.
  3. The fact that he thinks the education his 14 year old son would get in a clubhouse is greater than the education he'd get at a school is bonkers.
  4. Uhhhhh.....this is weird.
  5. The 1899 Cleveland Spiders started the season 1-4. They finished their season with a 1-40 stretch. We're too late to have a better start but we can have a better finish.
  6. At this pace Eduardo Escobar would more than triple the all time single season doubles record.
  7. Sano has made a couple of catches look easier than I expected but between the horrible dive that cost a run and his close-your-eyes-and-stab-at-the-air miracle catch I have a hard time saying he looks fairly competent. He could very well get there, but right now he looks like a guy who has never played RF before (imagine that). I've been a baseball fan too long to overreact to 3 games in April but man Escobar looks like a legit, 1st division SS. Great looking swing, obviously good gap power and his D is perfectly fine. If he gets his OBP to .325-.330 he'll get AS consideration. Sort of a big "if" but I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility.
  8. I died laughing at the eyes closed, stab at the ball technique. I'm pretty sure I used that same form when I was 8 and my dad was first hitting pop ups to me in the backyard. I'm not very concerned about any of the other trends mentioned in the thread. Well, not any more than I was before the season started. But I really enjoy watching Escobar hit doubles. He could keep doing that.
  9. Stay healthy. Otherwise I don't really care what happens in March. Stats are meaningless in Spring* *Unless you're Tyler Duffey.
  10. Complaining about free stuff is a weird thing to do. "Here is a free chocolate chip cookie" "Your chocolate chip cookies SUCK!" A simple thank you would've sufficed.
  11. Oh is this where we voice complaints? Because I was promised punch and pie and there is an alarmingly small amount of both pie and punch around here.
  12. Maybe Nolasco is having a better Spring but I think Duffy earned the right to fail/succeed in the regular season. I hope Nolasco pitches well and proves me wrong but I don't like the process either way.
  13. I don't think I was mistakenly disappointed by Dozier's 2nd half (or post ASB). He went from pre-ASB of .256/.328/.513 to post-ASB of .210/.280/.359. He went from peak Torii Hunter in the 1st half to peak Al Newman in the 2nd. That seems worthy of criticism, yeah?
  14. I wish Best Buy would give out free iPads and AT&T would give out free phones. Unfortunately none of the above are ever happening. But I'd much rather the players get paid these crazy amounts than the owners. I've never gone to Target Field to see a Pohlad but I've done it several times to see Sano already.
  15. I still love Joe and continue to hold out hope that he might have a 2 or 3 .300/.385/.420 type of seasons left in him. Concussions are weird and can impact people in all kinds of different ways. Maybe using sunglasses doesn't help but it's nice to hear that there is at least something he can try.
  16. If Buxton, Sano, Arcia, Kepler, Vargas, Park and Rosario are all hurt this signing starts to make sense.
  17. I can understand the comparison from the pov that they both succeeded in foreign professional leagues and we have no clue how that success translates. Other than that neither of them have ever been in my kitchen.
