  1. I look forward to vastly overrating everyone of these guys for the next few years. #KiriloffHOF
  2. I would love the opportunity to stand in the box as his curveball comes in. It looks so absurd on TV that I can't imagine how hard it would be to comprehend standing there with a bat in your hands.
  3. I really enjoyed this, well done. I'm currently drinking a Peru something or other from Dunn Bros. It's pretty good. I'd give it a Jason Castro out of 10.
  4. If my wife ever leaves me I would be interested in taking Berrios' curveball out for a nice steak dinner, a quiet evening stroll across the Stone Arch Bridge and then, I don't know, just kind of see where it goes from there.
  5. Holy crap, Jeff Kent hit 239 HR from his age-31 season and onwards.
  6. Yeah that's the deal I signed out of little league and I'm still kicking myself more than 25 years later. Bet I could hit a baseball over that mountain.
  7. I just skimmed this but did I hear Jay Bruce is our new 2B? I'm beyond excited about that.
  8. Grade 80 name, that somehow makes me more confident in his future than if his name were Bob Brown. I love our farm system right now. We may not have a Buxton down there at the moment but our depth is going to be really interesting to see evolve this season. Seems there are several guys who could make a leap into top 50 prospect territory.
  9. Looking back on MLB drafts and daydreaming what could've been, I love it. I could read stories like this forever. Great read!
  10. I agree, though if we let Gibson go I predict he signs with St. Louis and becomes an ace. And I'm already annoyed by that.
  11. You wouldn't look forward to the Twins in the World Series? Cody Bellinger had an OPS of .565 and struckout over 60% of his World Series ABs Mark Lemke had an OPS of 1.170 in his first World Series Neither of those stat lines tell us anything about those players other than how they did in a microscopic sample size.
  12. His career k/9 (9.1) would rank #2 in Twins history. Even if he never pitches like we hope he can I like the thinking behind this move and the direction Falvine seems to be taking our pitching staff.
  13. Good lord. They aren't even from the same country, much less played in the same league....or the same position. They are as comparable as Jeff Reboulet and Chili Davis.
  14. I wish there were targets I were interested in, the current structure of this team would fit a huge SP signing. But I'm not much of a fan outside of any of the FA SP's other than Darvish (why not?). Just more Ricky Nolasco's.
  15. I'm convinced I don't care at all about the Gold Glove. But I would've been very upset if Buxton hadn't won it. So I guess I care. But starting next year I will no longer care. Unless Buxton doesn't win it.
  16. I've never heard of Brant Alyea until today, he had a pretty solid 1970 though. .299/.366/.531 with 16 HR in 94 games. I have been looking for a sneaky throwback jersey....
  17. So...is Molitor still mad about the George Brett pine tar HR reversal? Or did he pick names out of a hat for a different reason? Either way, baseball! Real, live, actual baseball.
  18. I'll go with .255/.310/.480 20 HR, 45 SB and a Gold Glove. My main concern is that I drafted him in my fantasy baseball league, so if it all goes to hell I am very sorry to everyone.
  19. 0-1 in SB tells you next to nothing about his speed. And judging a players defense on fielding percentage is like judging the taste of a steak by me telling you over the phone that it’s brown. Torii Hunter had a .895 fielding pct in his first year in the minors and he did alright.
  20. When I was a kid I had a 'Tommy' corner in my room where I had Tom Lawless and Tommy Herr cards stuck to the wall. I'd drawn faces on them with marker and had deemed them my least favorite MLB players after the '87 World Series. Then we traded Tom Brunansky, one of OUR guys, for one of the guys in my Tommy corner? Tommy Herr has been my least favorite baseball player for 28 years running.
  21. I'm very happily surprised by the timing, as Brock said this is a statement move and this team needs to scream about something. Hopefully this is the first in a series of bold moves.
  22. David Clyde just felt a great disturbance in the force. I don't mean to be rude but this one time when we were kids my little sister mixed roast beef and cheese with her blueberry yogurt. Until today that was the worst idea I'd come across.
  23. The 1899 Cleveland Spiders started the season 1-4. They finished their season with a 1-40 stretch. We're too late to have a better start but we can have a better finish.
  24. At this pace Eduardo Escobar would more than triple the all time single season doubles record.
