    I read this in a recent Keith Law chat, wondering if anyone has heard this from another source? Mike G: Worried about Royce Lewis’s slow start? Keith Law: About his start, no. About the changes to his mechanics – he’s gotten very noisy, with a hitch now and multiple triggers – yes.

    I really didn't expect a "meh" directed towards Martin Perez in this thread! I would be more cautious about his start if weren't for the noticeable differences in his pitching. His cutter is new this year and he's throwing it a lot. That and 2-3 mph on your fastball makes him a pretty different pitcher than the one we though we signed.

    There is a lot to like about this team but the lack of bullpen help this year, to me, is such an obvious mistake I kind of can't believe they didn't do anything about it. Every year you have guys that go from a near nobody to an impressive bullpen piece. The Twins seem to be hoping 3 or 4 guys do that. Even our one proven bullpen arm, Rogers, doesn't have a long history of sustained success. I think it's an easy decision to sign Kimbrel or to be very aggressive on the trade market as soon as you can.

    I loved collecting cards when I was a kid. I invested heavily into 1988 Donruss and my favorite non-Twins card was probably Tom Newell. He only pitched one inning for the Phillies in 1987 and he had a 36.00 ERA which I found very funny when I was 12 years old. I thought of that when I noticed Chase DeJong had a matching ERA for the Twins this year. The good news for Chase is that last night wasn't his only big league inning, unlike our old friend Tom Newell who never pitched in the big leagues again.

    It's nice to have both a good, fun big league club and a good, fun minor league system. It seems likely that these guys are going to supplement an already good team rather than be forced to be the saviors. In 2007 Nick Blackburn was our #1 prospect, I wonder if he'd even make this top 20 now?

    Give one of the free sites a shot. ESPN and Yahoo are both good and if you don't dig it you're not invested. I find it gives me a reason to pay attention to the whole league and if the Twins disappoint (impossible!) I still have a reason to feel invested in September. We do commish only vetoes because in my experience other owners veto a trade if it's going to make a good team better. We have a keeper league so an owners motivations can vary depending on where you are in the standings (I might trade a stud for a prospect to keep the following year, for instance)

    Maybe 1 or 2 at the most. I set my lineup twice a week and check the waiver wire a few times a week. I check my score every night but that's mostly because I'm already watching baseball and staring at my phone anyway. If you didn't watch any baseball it would be tough, you want to be aware when your guy goes on or comes off the DL and to know when the "next big thing" is being called up to the show.

    I have a long standing fantasy baseball league for which I'm looking for either 1 or 3 new teams. We've had a few deflections in the last 2 years (children are largely to blame) and went from a long time 10 team league to 8 last year and are currently at 7. Would love to get back to 10. 5x5 (OBP, HR, R, RBI, SB / W, K, SV, ERA, WHIP) 2 player keeper (first year kept is a 1 round raise, 50% of the rounds for the next 3 - so 20th round drafted can be kept for 4 years = 19th round/9th/4th/2nd) $100 via leaguesafe. Good group of guys, mostly Twins fans, 1 Rockies fan. Live online draft tentatively scheduled for 3/24. Let me know if anyone would like to play.

    It makes way, way too much sense to sign Kimbrel. The money and need line up perfectly and I find it frustrating that there hasn't even been a connection between the team and him. Hopefully they're meeting in a parking ramp late at night and no one knows.

    Let me get this straight - this team has missed the playoffs for 1 straight seasons and instead of signing a real bear that could maybe charge, attack or otherwise startle the opponent they sign this bum? A mascot bear who can’t even pull it together to run in the mascot race? Noooo, instead for him we have a designated runner (thank you Wanda, an actual athlete) so that TC can busy himself shooting fans, including children, with a cannon? Unconscionable.

    Only 5 pitchers in all of MLB hit 210 IP last year. Gibson and Berrios were both north of 190. This team has problems but I don't see their workload as one of them.

    I like the Grateful Dead a lot. People used to scream for Phil Lesh to get a chance to sing at Dead shows. Phil's voice was absolutely terrible. I say this to point out that die hard fans of things often have terrible takes on those very same things.

    It takes longer than a week to fundamentally change an approach to such a degree that someone becomes a different player.

    Beyond the joke of a sample size these guys are all veterans, 2 of whom were already having very good years, who shouldn't need developing. Escobar has actually lowered his OPS with Arizona and Pressly's FIP has gone up by almost a full run.

    No one thought that a bunch of rag tag kids from the Goon Docks could find the treasure that had evaded the great Chester Copperpot but it turns out they were wrong. #gooniesneversaydie

    Agreed, I very much doubt they're able to trade him. By most accounts the offers from last year when he had 1.5 years of service were already underwhelming. Now add in a bad season and only 2 months of ABs and I'm not sure we can expect anything of value.

    I went to look at the HR leaders and realized that out of the top 40 HR hitters in baseball Rosario has the shortest average HR distance at 384.21 feet and the slowest speed off the bat (on HR's) at 100.47 mph. He is also the only one from the top 40 without a "no doubt" HR. But he does have the highest duration (behind Harper, who ) on his HR's at 5.25 seconds. Nothing to any of this maybe but I found it interesting. But to the question, I'll guess Rosario hits 30 and no one else hits 20 (for the Twins, Dozier and Esco do it for someone else).

    I love it when a prospect moves up a level and doesn't seem overly challenged by it. It's only 11 games but Kiriloff seems to fit right in at high A. Interested to see how quickly he can move next year. I think he could be the next Jason Kubel (but the edition that comes with real human knees)

    I would love the opportunity to stand in the box as his curveball comes in. It looks so absurd on TV that I can't imagine how hard it would be to comprehend standing there with a bat in your hands.

    I really enjoyed this, well done. I'm currently drinking a Peru something or other from Dunn Bros. It's pretty good. I'd give it a Jason Castro out of 10.

    If my wife ever leaves me I would be interested in taking Berrios' curveball out for a nice steak dinner, a quiet evening stroll across the Stone Arch Bridge and then, I don't know, just kind of see where it goes from there.

    Spring Training stats mean nothing. Spring Training is quite useful.
