  1. Thank god. He’s not that good anymore, and that contact will look bad in a couple years.
  2. Yes, I know. I doubt it will go in the player’s favor, but even for 1 year of Bryant, I think I would do the deal.
  3. Darvish and Bryant for Larnach, Balazovich, and Gordon. We take all of Darvish’s salary.
  4. This is a way bigger factor than the existence of winter here.
  5. If we sign Hamels and Bumgarner, we will have an awesome rotation for Fantasy Baseball in 2012! But seriously, Hamels would be a great addition to our staff, probably similar to Odorizzi last year.
  6. Players pay state income tax wherever the game is played, on top of federal taxes. So 50% Minnesota, 50% other locations. This does have large financial implications. The classic example was the 2012 Marlins - Blue Jays trade where players went from 0% state income tax in Florida to high taxes in Ontario. This is a brief, interesting article on the subject: https://www.forbes.com/sites/robertwood/2012/11/26/taxing-blue-jays-marlins-and-other-pro-athletes/
  7. One to go!!
  8. Way to finish the season strong, overcoming injuries. I’m excited Rosario is getting hot again.
  9. Thanks, it’s just brown and water.
  10. That seems about right. I don’t know if Hildenberger will have enough time to regain his spot—he didn’t get called back up yet—so I’d sub him for Thorpe so we have another lefty. Romo is a RHP.
  11. I think that is a reasonable offer. One benefit of acquiring him now (or this winter) would be that he can receive a qualifying offer next offseason. That goes away if he is traded during his contract year, right?
  12. Save a little money now and grab some better guys later
  13. I am still hopeful that giving Graterol such a nonspecific diagnosis reflects a lack of anatomical injury on MRI (i.e. rotator cuff tear, labral tear, etc). It certainly could be that his shoulder hurts when lifting his arm above his head, probably common in pitchers and any other overhead arm use profession, and this is a good opportunity to shut him down to rest. I predict he will be back pitching later this season, and will be called up to the Twins for our playoff run.
  14. As a Minnesota sports fan, I know in my heart that this article is a kiss of death. I am clearly broken inside.
  15. I hope Graterol’s shoulder impingement is really more about limiting innings in preparation for a deep Twins postseason run!
  16. They are playing out of their minds. I’m afraid to go to a game and jinx our squad.
  17. Wrap a bottle of booze in a Subway wrapper, and bring in your dinner like a real man.
  18. Is Sanó on the MLB or minor league DL? He was recalled to the majors last year, right? If not, it may have significant service time implications.
  19. If Sano starts the season on the DL, which seems likely, I wonder who we carry on the 25 man? Adrianza?
