  1. 1. Buxton (Pretty much a given) 2. Kepler - Already on the 40 man and has been to the Arizona Fall league. I think they give him a taste. 3. Vargas 4. Meyer 5. Tonkin I think you're right about Polanco and Santana. I think which ever one is healthy will get the call though. Side note - I think Walker heads to the Arizona Fall League. It would be some recognition that he had a good year, and they could see what he could do. I don't think they send Berrios as they probably want to shut him down after the season is over due to innings. I guess the AFL roster could be a whole separate thread.
  2. That would make sense too. I assumed that the Twins would hold on to him until the send of the season. There is a good chance that none of these moves are even made until Sept. 1st anyway. That way, you could keep Robinson around as a pinch runner/defensive replacement for those games that Torii still plays/injury insurance. I'm not sure if Robinson has options or not, but if you had to DFA him, I would think some team needing a 4th outfielder might try him out. If you wanted to call up Vargas, is he really going to get that many meaningful at-bats before September 1st? I think a Buxton call up would probably have a bit more impact. I don't think much will happen before Sept. 1st anyway, so it's probably a moot point anyway.
  3. I think I would rather have them swap that 13th pitcher with Buxton and have Hunter play less. I know it doesn't solve the pinch hitting issue against RHP, but I think it would be an improvement to the outfield overall, which would hopefully reduce the need for pinch hitting. I like Vargas, and he seems to be getting back on track, but I don't see how the Twins could fit him in until after September.
  4. So, Buxton needs help with a curveball, huh? I have just the guy for that: In all seriousness, I can see the Twins waiting for the AAA playoffs to be done to get Buck back to the bigs. I hope that they don't wait though. Lick Brock said, Buxton's AAA stint shows that he has his timing back. He will add improved defense in the outfield and I'm sure he can produce more than what Hunter has done in the month of August.
  5. Engineering, huh. I did that. It was... rewarding. I'll guess that's a good way to describe it. Got me a good career, but it was a lot of work. Don't let your son get discouraged by the math part of things. Those are the classes that universities use to weed out some people before they get to the cool classes. Also, Win Twins.
  6. I don't think that one will be topped. I was just going to make a joke about moving him back to catcher, cutting him, then resigning him only to trade him. But this comment wouldn't have come close to the brilliance. I think you just play him at 1b. That's about all you can do really. I personally think he's going to come back a bit this year. Maybe get that OPS+ back about 100 (probably not by much this year). I know that 1b should have better production than that, but he's not just going to quit or take a part time role yet. I hope he still has some gas in the tank.
  7. I think he's a HOFer for sure. Especially considering he plays the least represented position in the sport. He's still playing at a high level, and I bet that he gets to 3,000 hits. I don't know if he gets to 500 HRs, but I don't think that matters, especially if he gets the hits.
  8. 4). Have a better record than the White Sox. (I'm just adding this one because it should be on every Twins fan's list every year). The last week or two have been disappointing, because no fan likes watching his/her team lose. But, I have to say, the Twins have looked like a good team this year most of the year. We're finally getting to see some of the young guys we've been waiting for. Sano looks like he's been playing in the MLB for years. Buxton is so fast that he can turn all kinds of hits into extra bases. This year has had it's ups and down, but there are bright spots and I think we're starting to see the beginning of something very special.
  9. Are you referring to this error? I wouldn't worry about little things like that. I speel things wrong all the time.
  10. Whoops. Well, we are on to page 8, so someone was bound to repost something. That person was apparently me. I will do better in the future. Forgive-a-ness, please! http://i.imgur.com/TFSx0cR.jpg

  13. I'm assuming Boyer has some very incriminating photos of someone higher up in the Twins organization that they would prefer the public doesn't see.
  14. Wow. I didn't even notice that. Good catch. My post was bad, and I feel bad.

  17. It's pretty hard to defend keeping Boyer on this staff. It was difficult last week, it's down right impossible after today.
  18. I'm thinking we'll see that in September.

  20. I'm assuming some sort of bunt will be involved.
  21. I kind of hope that Sano will always ignore the bunt sign.
  22. Plouffe with the double. Now, Sano... BUNT!
  23. Nobody expects the sacrifice bunt in the 3rd. The element of surprise!
