  1. Quite honestly, they all scare me. And they have basically the same agenda. But Ryan could actually accomplish it as he knows what he's doing. But not causing WWIII would be a plus.
  2. They are seriously good ... go!
  3. Van!!! Steve n Seagulls is going to be in Austin on the 22nd!!! Playing at Grizzly Hall? Is that a place? You should so definitely go!!!!
  4. 19 Mar - 1 Apr
  5. I actually don't own any of their albums ... but I'd go to YouTube to listen to entire songs and then decide. I buy most of my things on iTunes, but no download site gives you enough 'sample time' which is why I usually end up listening to a ton of stuff on YouTube. Honestly, that Thunderstruck cover is one of the best covers I have ever heard. To combine bluegrass with rock as they did ... and still retain the essence of both ... I'm blown away every single time I listen to it. And the level of musicianship on that is just, freakin' incredible.
  6. Well, I think of you as a friend. And yes, I was referencing your recent posts asking for music suggestions. And yes, this really happened today. It's how my day started. But I put the ear buds back in place, sat at my desk and music made me feel better.
  7. A friend of mine on FB recently asked for suggestions of music with various criteria. It had me going through my entire library and then some, refreshing my like, love or the opposite for various songs and artists. So much so, that I charged up the iPod and have been doing a lot of listening at work. One of colleagues today greeted me this morning when I came in this morning with my earbuds in place with the question, 'Are you going to wear those things for the rest of your career? I find it very rude and I am personally offended!' He was serious and incredibly confrontational and '*******-ish' in his manner. Keep in mind, we don't work on projects jointly and I'm currently doing a huge proof-reading project. Most of the time the three of us are at our desks working on our own projects in silence most of the time anyway with little need for true collegial interaction; if that were the case of course I'd remove them. Keep in mind also that I don't tune out the world like this often, but on occasion. And it does help me focus. Also keep in mind, I never have the volume very loud so I can still hear what's going on around me; and I don't keep them in during rehearsals. So, that's my music story of the day. But just after this happened (my response was that it wasn't my intent to offend and that listening to music like this helped me focus), two songs later was 'You Don't Own Me' by Leslie Gore. But back to thre Facebook story, I've been listening to a lot of Amy Winehouse lately as a result. And my continued appreciation for these guys ... a bluegrass band from Finland doing rock covers ... enjoy: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=e4Ao-iNPPUc
  8. It's another day of mention, too ... Chief's birthday! I wonder if he sent out the first card, carved in stone. Happy Birthday, Chief!
  9. When that Day 1 photo popped up on my iPad this morning, I thought something was wrong with the site and was about to PM Brock ... lol ... until I scrolled and realized that 'Oh, it's a photo for the article.' So yes ... you've come a long way ... and appreciation just isn't a strong enough word for this place and all of you!
  10. Just like ... yeah ... but not the OFFICIAL official first practice. As I said ... it doesn't really matter because players have been there working out and doing whatever already. I like this time of year best ...
  11. Last two weeks of March. I actually prefer being there earlier, but that's just how my schedule worked out. And what time I have to be at the fields other than for games is still up in the air due to parental care needs ... and how many tennis games I can schedule.
  12. And is the official first practice pushed back to the 15th then? It was report by the 13th, first official practice on the 14th so if one was pushed back I assume the other was, too. Although considering the numbers already there, not sure it matters other than the required officialness of it.
  13. Not what I was implying or saying.
  14. I think if you read through all the comments very, very few people agree with that premise and don't think that's truly and solely where the problem is. I think most are concerned with how Joe is utilized and most know that that isn't on Joe. And most realize that if properly utilized, he can contribute to the success of the team.
  15. Moderator note: Things are starting to take a snippy tone here. If you have something to say on the topic, say it. If you don't, don't. These are not 'winnable debates' we have here. If you disagree you disagree. So what? Hammering your same points over and over and over doesn't make you more right or more convincing.
  16. Good for you. This needs to happen everywhere, every time.
  17. Can we also make this the 'science' thread? A full moon, snow moon, lunar eclipse and a comet walk into a bar ... http://www.atlasobscura.com/articles/snow-moon-lunar-eclipse?utm_source=facebook.com&utm_medium=atlas-page
  18. That one always stumbles me up, too. But I'm clear on there, their and they're; also to and too.
  19. Or maybe that was part of his rehab schedule issued by his doctor, therapist, trainer ... and when the time got there, they all said he wasn't ready.
  20. Maybe that's what I remember. I know both have been a part of his baseball life, just couldn't remember to what capacity where/when. Thanks.
  21. That was absolutely THE BEST response!
  22. More integrity?
  23. Heh ... likes cats, pizza the way I do, the Twins ... Dinger, it's getting scary ... are you the male me? (I get to say it that way instead of me being the female you because I was born first. )
  24. Well, I liked that for the artichoke, but I'd alter the onion to carmelized onion.
  25. So, greens instead of sauce ... like a salad pizza? I am definitely intrigued. And prosciutto is awesome.
