Who all is there now? You should start a thread to give us all the 'low down' of what's going on in camp.

Hmm ... didn't know of this place ... another 'iconic' place to try, but I don't expect anything to ever beat Hot Doug's, which is now closed.

Heh, I wasn't really serious when I asked that. But glad you guys obliged. I watched none of it, including half time show and commercials.
  5. Squirrel
How 'bout that half time show? And what was everyone's favorite commercial?

Brock, wondering if those new forums are just for the team they are named for (Vikings, Wolves, Wild). The working description under the Vikings site includes 'and NFL Football.' So ... that would imply all nfl talk in there? Would the same be for the other forums? Wild and NHL talk, Wolves and NBA talk? Just curious for the sake of organization. It's a quibble, as it doesn't really matter, just asking. Not that much else comes up or gets mentioned other than the pro teams, but I could see occasionally some Packer talk coming up since some of you don't have much sense. And more currently, Super Bowl chatter.

And thank you. I appreciate hearing these other viewpoints as well, agree or disagree, and think they add to the conversation.

I didn't say I ever did. But they are so greasy, it makes sense you could squeeze one and actually see the grease drip out.

Yep ... I'm forever looking for independent coffee places here/near work ... I do NOT want to give my business to Starbucks and I can't stand their coffee anyway. I actually like DD coffee better, but that isn't all that great, either. Then I found a place, and now it's closed. But then I found this place. That picture is the entire place. Maybe 4 or 5 customers can be in there at one time and I often see a line out the door. And it's down this alley-way ... off the beaten path. Very cute and good coffee. But it's just a little out of the way for me and they don't sell Do-Rite donuts. Oh well ... can't have everything in life. And I probably shouldn't have the donuts anyway.

Well, crap Mike ... quit saying stuff that might come true. If this does, I am blaming you for the entire season for everything!

I hadn't thought of that ... but it seems they are committed to not making Sano primarily a DH at this stage in his career. But, maybe they are trying to give themselves some flexibility to see who gels where. Dunno.

I actually like Napoli as a player. But I'm not sure I'd have signed him here. We'll see. If they do, hope he has the beard back.

This is it for me. I just think there were others that were ahead of him on the dfa list. If at the end of ST you don't think it's going to work, then dfa him ... but now? It's weird timing, imo. Perhaps there is something going on we don't know. My 'worry' is they have done this to sign Morneau. I love Morneau, but ... or maybe they believe in Vargas that much? Or Palka? It's just a very surprising move. And I wish I knew more.

Krispy Kreme opened a store in Winona, MN ... my hometown ... it closed within a couple months because, well, you can't compete with the hometown, family-owned/operated bakery. Winonans will never abandon Bloedows, never ever.
  17. Squirrel
    Yeah ... I agree with this ...
  18. Squirrel
It's also National Wear Red Day today ... for heart disease awareness. And Krispy Kreme donuts are really icky. You could squeeze one and see the grease come dripping out.

    Concur!

In case you didn't see it, I knighted Mike to moderator status in this thread. His warning is legit and should be taken very seriously!

    Oh, I don't know ... know a good medium?
  23. Squirrel
Yeah ... I'm a bit ... squeamish around snakes myself.

I am knighting you to moderator status of the Food and Other Such Holidays thread.
