  1. Maybe only put the sausage on half and add a veggie (like artichoke) on the other half. But I would say 'no' to green olive and hell no to buffalo chicken. If I can't handle the spice of Italian sausage, I definitely can't handle the spice of buffalo chicken.
  2. Wasn't first where they initially slotted him, then moved him to outfield? Or was he always outfield, but given reps at first? I read so many different things I am easily confused.
  3. Individual likes but still a universal language. I genuinely like and listen to all the songs I posted in your queries on FB or I wouldn't have posted them. I didn't post anything just because it fit the criteria you made. But I also know that many of them won't be met with the same enthusiasm I have for them. Still, I like what you are doing because I'm listening to a lot of other things I wouldn't normally listen to, or hadn't heard before, or refreshed my memory/enthusiasm. The 'styles' of some of them wouldn't necessarily compel me to add them to 'my' lists, but I love the exercise nonetheless.
  4. Mushrooms, black olives, extra cheese, and Italian sausage (although I really can't and shouldn't so don't often eat greasy, spicy meats anymore).
  5. I think Brock pretty much nailed that point, and succinctly so, with this post.
  6. Lol ... was that directed at me? I mean, just because you cover a GOOD song doesn't make it a good cover.
  7. They haven't been open that long and I've only actually eaten there once when I tried the Signature Nova. An enthusiastic two thumbs up for me! But I'd give the yardstick a go in the right situation ... i.e. with a group of friends and not solo dining.
  8. I think you already answered your own question ... I'm not sure the answer is obvious right now. I'll take it a step further and I'd say that right now, the latter. But I'm not sure how far down the line it would be the former. I'd have to see that set up in action and see it gel before giving a 'real' answer.
  9. I've made my feelings on pizza fairly well known in these parts. True Italian style, thin crust pizza without a red sauce is my only go tos in the pizza world due to a chronic health issue. Forget the NY vs Chicago style ... they are nothing more than American bastardizations (even if really good). And now there is a place in my neighborhood that caters to my tastes and needs. These nova pizzas are the real deal! http://victorytapchicago.com/images/dining-menu-victory-tap
  10. Ah, the gulf between romantic theory and pragmatic reality.
  11. Didn't he say once that when he was through with baseball he wanted to go to med school?
  12. While it's fine to question why, be careful about the accusations. Accusing someone of drug abuse or bad character with no other eveidence to back up your opinions, is a bit egregious, imo. Were there reports of not getting along in the clubhouse, for instance? Does he have a history of that? Is there other behavior that points to drug abuse? Before just throwing that out there, please go a step futher.
  13. Sorry for the thread jack ... I take full responsibility. Lots of food talk goes on in the Sports Bar forum and it's pretty fun, I suggest we drop that here and get back to fangraphs discussion, and move the food talk to the Sports Bar. Thanks. And I'm hungry.
  14. Yeah. And I wouldn't say if I knew.
  15. I did a terrible job of explaining that ... in my head I understood what I said, but reading what I wrote ... I don't! Sorry!
  16. Lol ... I haven't even been there ... although I did try their brisket at an event that was catered by them. But friends of mine who are real BBQ hounds all claim they are the best in the city. Yup, pretty much this. Why I miss Doug's vs having never been to a Portillo's.
  17. Actually ... according to a link pasted here earlier ... once DFA'd, the team has 10 days to waive/trade, release or reassign. When placed on waivers, claiming teams have 3 days to make a claim. Those 3 days are part of the 10, so the team DFAing said player has up to 7 days to actually put the player on waivers to accommodate the 3 days a claim can be made. When a player is DFA'd, he isn't automatically on waivers. I'm doing a terrible job at explaining something that confuses me and am not sure I have it right, so someone else who is clear-headed on this, please jump in.
  18. No, actually, it doesn't. Haven't heard of any retractions in any of the 'reports' made in those regards, where in this case, there was an actual retraction/correction, an 'ooops, my bad' tweet.
  19. Do you mean Smoque? Heh. I'm not a big Chicago beef fan. I have yet to go to Portillo's which people exclaim, 'You haven't????????!!!!!!!!!' as if I've committed some mortal sin. But Hot Doug's was amazing for all kinds of hot dogs. Looks like Byron's also does 'dogs, but still can't imagine anyone coming close to Doug's.
  20. Once he is placed on waivers (which I don't think he has been officially, don't know), other teams have 3 days. If no one claims him in that 3-day period, he's cleared and the Twins can assign him to AAA.
  21. Last year I noticed that several of the catchers took some time at first to just do that. I don't think it's anything to read into.
  22. Have the Twins officially put him on waivers yet? According to the link Ash posted the Twins have up to 7 days to do that, and teams have 3 days. Did I read that correctly? If so, did they also put him on waivers at the time of the DFA? These rules and terminology confuse me!
  23. Geeeeeeeeeez ... that put me in a serious state of WTF. Glad it was an error.
  24. Excellent! Park is now a non-roster invitee to the ML camp, so it's no surprise he's there ... at least unless/until he's claimed. Fill us in as much as you can! Thanks, guys!
