  1. I'm always off the hook ... or should be ... I keep hoping someone else starts one, then have to jump in when no one does!! Once the regular season begins, all will be made clear.
  2. What about Salvation Army? I actually like to give clothing there, because they will take it ALL, including rags and tatters ... which they make into rags, stuffing and other things. I, personally, don't like the idea of donating clothing that truly cannot be worn again ... I mean, really ... if it's not physically good enough to wear, why or how would anyone else be able to wear it? But I think Salvation Army makes use of all fabric they receive, which is better than just throwing it out. I'll bake treats of some sort for the crew at work. Last night I made Swedish meatballs for me, which made me very happy last night, and for the leftover meals to come. So tonight I'll bake something for the stage crew at work. They work harder than anyone here.
  3. I had a friend on FB who posted how she has been waiting to hear words like that, that he was a true leader, and that she literally had tears running down her face. Let's see how she feels when he dismantles the ACA. With her pre-existing condition, good luck.
  4. And yet it feels much older than that ...
  5. I'm at work doing a big proof-reading project, so my head is full of notes, articulations, dynamics, accidentals, key signatures, time signatures, page turns, missing measures ... Your turn!
  6. Okay ... help!!! Game threaders ... jump in to start whenever ... I know yesterday's game left much to be desired, but ... it's live baseball!!! And, well, depending on how you look at it overall, not meaningless, but meaningless, but not entirely. No TV, but radio (at least from what I can tell on my MLB app); and Gameday appears to be functional today, too! Lineups: PIRATES: Gosselin, 2B Marte, CF Polanco, LF Freese, 3B Jaso, 1B Newmann, SS Ortiz, RF Jhang, DH Williams, C Lindblom, P TWINS: Granite, RF Mauer, 1B Dozier, 2B Park DH Castro, C Stubbs, CF Grossman, LF Hague, 3B Adrianza, SS Gibson, P (pitched 1.2, gave up 2) Rucinski And it is 2-0, Pirates after an inning and 2/3rds. Hallsey will have to jump in with the weather report, as he's there and I'm not!
  7. Australia. I think I may have sampled some at one point. Oh, wait, no, that was emu. Never mind. But the killing bird issue ... isn't there something they can rig up that emits a sound that keeps birds away?
  8. La Máquina de hilo de juego!
  9. Just wait for MLB to institute the 10-run rule.
  10. Okay ... since I directed this down a very bad hill ... I'm pushing it back up ... Today is Paczki Day in Chicago!!! Yummmmm!!!! You don't get them better anywhere else in the country than here! I'm going out to get one for dinner tonight! Well, for dessert!
  11. I went to an Old Country Buffet once ... once ... that's all it took. And I never order the salad bar, either.
  12. I should never have started this one. Heh. I got bad oysters once ... was at a very romantic dinner out with my bf at the time ... food poisoning struck at a most inopportune moment later in the evening. ahem. yeah. (But that wasn't fast food related so I didn't mention it before.) You just really can't trust food anywhere. Who knows what's been washed, looked at, smelled ... before being 'prepared' and served. Not to mention the hygiene of those handling and preparing said food. But you just can't focus on that or never eat out again, anywhere.
  13. The injuries, though, and the arthritis in my foot, just might be telling me something ... I'm not quite ready to listen, though. :/
  14. What is your worst fast food experience? I have three: McDonald's in the 80s ... food poisoning. Last burger I ate from there. Au Bon Pain ... was ladling out some soup to go, and when I pulled the ladle out of the soup tureen, there was a big, long hair attached to it. I almost threw up right there. The worst was when I showed it to the attendant, she had to go back in the kitchen and ask the manager what to do. Seriously. White Castle, somewhere in Indiana ... Stopped to get some food (not my choice), went in to use the bathroom, and omg, I have NEVER seen a more disgustingly dirty and smelly, literal, **** hole ... gross, gross, gross ... Never wanted to eat in a White Castle before, certainly never will try to do so every again.
  15. There isn't much I'll order from there, quite frankly. Nothing breaded or deep fried for sure. I stay as simple as possible. Usually veggies or brown rice with something chicken. That's it. In a bowl to go. But all that stuff is overly salted.
  16. My hips concur.
  17. Well, I had Panda ... <stomach gurgle> ...
  18. Not to be a prat, but I'm going to be a prat ... c'est la vie. Close, but not quite.
  19. Neither Joe nor Dozier have played in a ST game yet. My guess is they want to give the others all the reps they can to make decisions later on. Joe and Dozier are locks to make the team, the others (who would cover these positions) are not.
  20. Santiago was up first, gave up 4 ... the rest is on Duffey and whoever else came after.
  21. I'm thinking I don't want to listen anymore
