    I don’t want to lead this discussion down the wrong path, but I don’t see how this decision was at all political. You seem to be making it so by suggesting it is. There is a lot of unrest in the community so for the safety of all involved, they decided to postpone. And Chief is right, if it is so unwatchable, something you have stated a few times now, the choice is simple. Don’t watch.

    No one is celebrating here and sports are not encouraging or supporting this. This is where genuine discussion crosses the line to disingenuous rhetoric, so cross it back over.

    I don't think she'd equate herself to God, or even say she was God-like. She may, however, say she was god-like as she calls upon her ancestors Hera, Athena, Aphrodite, Euterpe, Iris, Hebe, Elpis ... but for the purposes of game threads, she mostly calls upon Thalia and the Maniae. Maybe you knew of them from your early days?

    Wow, calling someone old. That’s something coming from you. I mean, she would have to be the Creator if you’re calling her old. Btw, how long before the game begins, in Earth time?

    When I was visiting my Mom last month, we were out for a long Sunday drive and had on a radio broadcast of a ST game when she declared ‘This announcer is terrible. I don’t like him, at all.’ I said, ‘Mom, that’s Dan Gladden.’ She said, ‘No it’s not.’ So I said, ‘Yes, that’s Gladden.’ Then she paused and said, ‘Well, he is not good.’ She doesn’t listen to many games as she’s out of state and gets a cable package, so doesn’t listen to radio games. While some might think she’s just an old lady and what does she know, she knows announcers. During summers years ago, the game was always on the radio. One summer, she even sat and score-kept every game while she listened. Not sure why, but she did. Couldn’t do that if it were only Gladden in the booth because you’d hardly know what was really happening to properly score a game.

    Let’s hope Shoemaker is really on his game today and that lineup produces so there isn’t another extra-inning game. Go Twins!

    Got my first shot today ... 2nd one scheduled for 3 weeks from today, let it incubate for 2 ... and I'm ready for in person baseball in 5 weeks!!! About the time the weather will be really pleasant for it ... it's all in the timing! So excited!

    Moderator warning: This is not a political discussion, regardless of the reasons MLB made their decision. So ... don't go there. Period. You can like or dislike the decision based on your own personal criteria, but we are not having that discussion here, so there is no need to mention how and why you are choosing to support or cancel MLB.

    You can't protect everyone. If he sticks with the Tigers all year and does great, good for him. Still doesn't mean it was a mistake by the FO. You win some, you lose some ... and there is no way to predict things like this. As was explained above, he missed almost two seasons of baseball, not just last year, has never played in the high minors, is inexperienced. We have a lot of prospects that have potential. Frankly, I was sorry to lose him, but it was a gamble they had to take. Still doesn't make it a mistake or mismanagement, imo.
