    ha ... close to my mantra ... 'It's just a game'. I've often stated I have no control over what anyone does, so I just can't get too worked up about. Sure, during a particular game, I'm either cheering or swearing ... but then it's over, until the next game, and it's a new day, new game, new possibilities

    There is something to the saying ... 'When the going gets tough, the tough get going'. I don't expect them to do that every game this trip ... but it was nice to see it last night.

I know that Covid has affected this team from a couple of different angles, so it's only natural for it to be the heart of many of these discussions, but let's get back to baseball talk now. I think just about everyone has had their input, and I'm tired of misinformation and squabbling between the 'two sides.' Let's just stick to what unites us, baseball, and leave the Covid/vaccination talk to another site. Thanks.

    I’m addressing this part separately. This is just incorrect. You can believe it if you want, but I urge you to do further research because this is just wrong. And it is not debatable so do not repeat this kind of misinformation on this site, thanks, Lets just stick to baseball.

    Yes, he has stated publicly he is not. And I don’t know what other country’s policies are in regards to travel. Those policies have changed over the last two years for everyone.

    With all the injuries, our depth is thin. This is a depth signing. Won’t be surprised if he gets activated at some point … depends on injury and sickness statuses … won’t be surprised if he doesn’t, either. I don’t take this as major league help at all. That would have to come through trades which aren’t happening yet because it’s just too far away from the deadline yet and too many teams are still ‘in it.’ But we have gone through so much of our pitching depth, these kinds of signings are to be expected and not surprising. Depth piece only.

    OKAY ... ENOUGH ... YOU HAVE ALL HAD YOUR SAY ABOUT COVID AND THE VACCINES AND CHOICE AND PUBLIC HEALTH AND CANADIAN LAW. GET BACK TO BASEBALL AND QUIT GOING DOWN THESE RABBIT HOLES OF DISCUSSION. IT'S UNFORTUNATE THAT ROSTER MOVES HAD TO BE MADE, BUT IT IS WHAT IT IS. GET ON WITH IT.

    Because it doesn't matter in the end. Truly. It just doesn't. It's what the law is, and we have no power to change it or affect it. And it leads the discussion into the weeds, imo. <shrug> So, what do you think of those being called up to replace those who are restricted?

    Did I read somewhere that this is possible come playoff time? That special waivers may come into play?

    I don't know the whys and wherefores of Canada's law ... do you? Were you in Parliament that day? Or in Trudeau's office? Maybe on the surface it's inconsistent, but I don't know what they have based this on so I won't make a claim that is unfounded. But many countries switched their entry policies from tests proving negative, followed by quarantines to vaccination requirements. Whether or not that is inconsistent, maybe it's changed based on more knowledge and more input from professionals, of which I am not one.
