I appreciate bringing some others into the discussion for comparison's sake, but let's not take the tangent road and please keep this discussion on Royce Lewis. If you want to discuss Cavaco, or any other player for that matter, you are more than welcome to start a thread in the Minor League forum or write a blog. Thank you.

    No, this was my fault ... I broke it ... Ted's article on the FO ... the comments on the front page are broken. But this one on Astudillo is fine. But you can comment on Ted's article in the forum, just not from the home page.

    That’s why I said it was a good signing, but it’s still not the impact we need and hope we get. We had 3-4 slots to fill behind Berrios, and I think Odo and Pineda were both good signings and are on a good path. Like you said, we have back 3/5 of our rotation from last year, and the best 3/5 of it. Hoping the impact pitcher is still on his way.

    I don’t dislike the signing; I think it’s good. But it’s not impact to me. This is a very similar rotation to last season so far, so I’m hoping for one more of greater value.

    Centurylink Sport Complex is owned by Lee County, I think, or the city of Fort Myers. It isn’t owned by the Twins nor the Miracle, er... Mussels, owner.

    Um ... the Mussels? Okay, I guess that works as play on words ... mussels, muscles ... didn't realize Fort Myers was exactly known for their mussels ... guess I'm going to have to get a new hat But, well ... think they could have done better with a name.

    My mom is a huge baseball fan ... always was ... and huge in pushing for equality in girls/womens athletic programs in schools ... so I often wonder why she went the softball route. Maybe because back then, she didn't want to use her daughters to prove a point or push that line in a smaller more conservative community in the 60s.

    I can relate to much of this. Even down to athletic options. I played tennis and softball - tennis on the high school team, softball in summer rec leagues only, but I was on a couple of championship teams. If it was now ... not sure what I'd do, if I'd have insisted on playing baseball or not. And the shirt thing? Just ... ugh. Some of the advertising also is ... well ... geared toward one segment of the audience.

    I wasn’t aware of this ... of course I live out of state ... but I want to do this next summer! Maybe talk my niece and/or sister-in-law into signing up with me! Heh, I have no idea where my glove is, though.

    Could be a lot of things ... he probably had some unknown congenital condition. This is just very sad.
