  4. There is a thread in the "Other Baseball" forum that is being used to kinda, sorta keep track, or mention, when these things happen.
  5. Whooooa ... that's going to be an interesting lineup to watch tonight ... Oh, wait ... I live in Chicago ... I don't get to watch because ... (I won't get into that)
  6. I'm really looking forward to the next one!!
  7. I wouldn’t say anyone is stupid. In fact I don’t think that at all. Some may not seek out as much information and know all the integral facts. Then, again, those that do often disagree. One way or another, Buxton needs to stay on the field. He is an elite talent and athlete and we need him to stay healthy and luck has not been on his side, imo.
  8. I just registered, too ... looking forward to it.
  9. Thanks, Ted. I can't tell you how great it is to read these stories, here, on TD. And how important they are.
  10. Love this guy even more! Heh ... 'You will hear me during games' ... lol ... 'I'm the hairiest I've ever been' ... he's a jokester and prankster, but when it comes to pitching, he's all serious and focussed. I hope we get to see and hear all the antics, if games are actually played.
  11. For many years I was hard-pressed to choose a favorite Twin ... and now I'm hard-pressed to choose one that isn't! Love Romo ... he's just got a great spirit.
  12. I would actually try for no nickname that is meant in any kind of demeaning manner, or could be taken a such.
  13. Okay, then why is that interleague game more important than others? So not a fan of the Cubs
  14. Why is playing the Cubs an important date? They won’t be that great. Also, all games against Chicago, both teams, are on weekdays. No weekend series against them, home or away.
  15. Mod note: Please keep the Coronavirus discussion as it directly relates to baseball. If you want to have a more general and broad discussion of the virus, please head to the Sports Bar forum where there is a thread discussing this. Thanks.
  16. really, really great article, Seth! Each and every moment forward, I am just so much more impressed with Baldelli.
  17. That's what I heard, too ... https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/baseball/news/twins-miguel-sano-reveals-positive-covid-19-test/
  18. The morass that is the copyright laws. Being in the music industry, all I can say is 'Ugh!' and 'I feel for you!' It's all about who they think they can get away with punishing, fining and extracting money out of. Well, okay, I do think artists are entitled to make money from their own music, and they deserve the protection of misuse and free shares, but some of them lose their own copyrights to those with more money. So, even if you could beg forgiveness and permission from the band, they may not even have control over their own copyrights anymore. Too bad you don't have a direct connection to them to ask, but it would still end up being a licensing mess because someone somewhere would make it so. In the end, I think posting to YouTube is an easier process. (I could be wrong about this, but have some kind of vague recollection about a conference session I attended 4 years ago that discussed streaming options and various platforms.) Anyway ... glad you are back.
  19. As Tom said, lots of logistics to work out. Frankly, I've thought this all along ... the 'we vs them' between players and owners/mlb in pay and revenue mean nothing if they can't field and/or keep a team fielded during this time. Will players from outside the country be granted access to come into the U.S.? How quickly can all the paperwork get done for this to happen? What will the protocols be? What happens when one person tests positive, then 3 ... what if half a team needs to be quarantined? Who is asymptomatic and who gets seriously ill? Sure, most of the players are in a low risk group, but, not all of the personnel from onfield managers, coaches, trainers, etc are necessarily low risk. A lot of time has been wasted when these issues, and right now I'd say they were the larger issues, haven't been addressed, at all. And it wouldn't surprise me if this is the reason baseball won't happen this year, which tells me it probably never was going to, and all these negotiations were just posturing.
  20. I hope they can retain him in some way into the future post playing career. He's a good human being.
  21. They may have made some of those moves to 'be seen' ... however ... if so, I still think they were the absolute right things to do and support them for it. Removing the statue was a step in the right direction, imo. Agreed ... shouldn't have put it up to begin with, but times change.
  22. Thank you. My Dad had said a few things through the years that were cringe worthy, and was always corrected for it, but never anything like that. Never. And given the articles and comments made, at that time, it showed that it was even that bad then, and even more so now.
