  1. I like them overall. Not a fan of the M, but don’t hate it, either. Everyone always asks me what the TC stands for. That annoys me more than whatever style M is on the caps. Mostly I don’t care as long as the baby blues are gone. They always looked like pajamas to me. But mostly I don’t care because I’m more concerned with who’s wearing the uniforms. But I think the hype of ‘rebranding’ is always silly no matter who or what it is. That said, I enjoyed the fashion show.
  2. Unless they are able to flip him. I mean, I hope this isn’t their plan, but it doesn’t mean they can’t sign someone else. Unless he can play 3rd?
  3. IF we manage to sign Correa (and yes, that's a big if, and italicized, too), then we move Lewis or Lee to 3rd. Miranda can cover there until one of them is ready. I would have waited until mid-season to do this, but, we'll see how it plays out.
  4. All Randball Stu’s articles are satire. All of them. So take each and every one with the pointed humor intended. If it’s not your thing just walk away ?
  5. I agree there are unknowns. But I can't imagine they go forth and don't up their revenue stream to some extent
  6. First month? That's optimistic for Lewis' timeline. I say move Lewis to 3rd and sign a proven SS. I mean, we just had an article about how disappointing Sano was - all promise throughout the minors and his rookie year, then what? I don't want to push all in on either of these prospects to cover SS when I'm not convinced yet either will stick there. But I'm glad we have both Lewis and Lee. It's a silly article asking 'which one?'
  7. I don't know the genesis of it, but perhaps in modern baseball, some utility players are getting as much play time as starters, but maybe not as much in one position? If that's the case, then they should be considered in some category. But it is weird to me, as pointed out above, that he would be considered utility for one award and 1st base for another.
  8. Signing Correa won’t tie their hands. They have a lot of young players under control for several years. And they will be renegotiating their TV deal after next season. There is no reason to believe the next contract will be as low as it is currently. They could boost the payroll a little. They have room to sign BOTH Correa and Rodon. Without the shift, the SS role is going to be even more important.
  9. Of the states that have no state income tax … and everyone still pays federal income tax … that would mean he would have a choice of 5 teams in 3 states. Further to this argument, they pay state income tax in every state they play a game. If you are trying to say that he won’t sign in Minnesota because of the state income tax, then he won’t sign with any team in California, either, where the state income tax is higher. And New York isn’t that far behind. Not to mention the cost of living is way higher in both California and New York. If you combine income tax and sales tax, NY, IL and CA are more expensive. If this is your argument, it’s a wonder that the best teams continually aren’t in FL, TX and WA. Taxes are a non-issue in signing a player. Salary, benefits and incentives are. The only thing that stands between signing Correa or not, is money offered.
  10. Bold and very doable. so doubtful this FO does this
  11. Let the off-season officially begin …

  12. I agree. I really don’t want to see Sands or Megill in the BP to start the season.
  13. I can delete the whole thing for you if you like. Let me know.
  14. Why do you say that? I think he's as good or better than some others who received that
  15. It's okay. I'm not saying they didn't try. But that does seem to be the most-oft response. It doesn't mean they didn't try, but ... there it is. It's not about not trying, it's about not putting forth the best offer.
  16. I think realistically is 0% … that’s what I think of the FO with the ‘We’re on board’ which will become, ‘We tried’
  17. Even if begrudgingly, he will still be cheered. Like my friend said … he’d cheer for him, but hopes the Dodgers don’t sign him. On a related note to this thread, my friend doesn’t think the Dodgers will re-sign Turner. He thinks Turner will go to the Cubs. So, it would make sense for the Dodgers to then be all in on Correa. I know, a lot of ‘ifs’ in there for an off-season yet to come. And I still think the Twins have it in their payroll to pay Correa AND Rodon and not have those signings be a detriment. Just once I’d like to see them really go for it, pipe dream as it is.
  18. Weren't the Red Sox involved in a similar scandal?
  19. Were either of them part of the 2018 WS team? Mookie was, pretty sure, not sure about Price.
  20. From a Dodgers fan friend of mine: If the Dodgers sign Correa he will cheer on Correa. But he really hopes they don't sign him. Not that that will have any affect on what the Dodgers will do. It won't.
  21. Nice write up ... thanks for giving us the 'in person' report. To where do you and Chief want the bail money sent?
