  1. Since at least 60% of the state lives in the "cities" as you call it, it seems it would make sense to me to have a station that is based in the "cities" and doesn't sound like it was from two generations ago as the flagship of the MLB team. Well, if it helps people not from the "cities" to listen to the Twins on their transitor radios that is peachy keen by me. I am a "cities" person I guess, although I don't live in Minneapolis or St. Paul. I use technology from this century, like the internet, and the FSGO app, etc. so I am not the target audience for WCCO listeners.
  2. You are right about the Vikings. Favre across the body did it for me - I could no longer give my heart and soul to that cursed franchise and had to cash in the 10+ year season tickets. It isn't worth the agony and the elevated blood pressue. I am much happier being a dedicated fan that realizes the Vikings will never win the big one until they actuall prove the can win it - and until then I will jump on the bandwagon when appropriate and not get emotionally invested in them. As for college football, North Dakota is not relevant because they win the JV championship. They just aren't relevant no matter how many JV titles they win and how many guys they send to the NFL. Play with the big boys and start winning there and then you will be relevant. Until then, nobody outside of North Dakota really cares.
  3. The increase in strikeouts is sickening. That being said, I had not thought of it in terms of the Twins pitching staff recording more strikeouts. Let's start sending more batters to the pine after three strikes. Is this officially the end of the 'pitch to contact' era and that Twins Way?
  4. I guess going back to 'CCO is a good thing for the market they are targeting. I still have nightmarish flashbacks at having to listen to 'CCO in the car as a boy in the early 1980s and that "WCCO" jingle makes me break into cold sweats. To each his own, though. As for me, I cannot stand that AM static and background buzz.
  5. Bunting is cool and always will be. The focus should be on the alarming amount of strikeouts in today's game.
  6. This Thanksgiving I am thankful that Falvine could not trade Dozier. Twins fans are blessed to watch him daily. Now, sign Doz to an extension.
  7. Santana should make it. Does he have the "it" factor to capture the voters' attention? That lost Cy Young to Bartolo might really hurt.
  8. Why not Little Nicky Punto (LNP)?
  9. Maybe it's because it is so fresh in my mind.. Buxton's 2017 soars a mile high over Gomez and Hunter's strong seasons. Not sure about Koskie's season - I do recall thinking he was an underrated magician at 3rd base.
  10. The Twins will beat the Yankees in the wild card game tonight. Then, give Cleveland a run in the ALDS. That's all I have. This generation of Twins feels different. Winners. No Yankees baggage.
  11. Yeah sure, I guess why not right? It just seems like such a mediocre accomplishment in the grand scheme of things and big picture the Twins should have their sights on a World Series title in the next few years. I go back to the NBA and NHL - the Warriors aren't celebrating by popping champagne when they knock off the #8 seed in the first round, are they?
  12. Hey, if the Twins batters catch fire in the playoffs and a couple of the pitchers do the same and supporting guys step up... just saying the Twins could give some teams trouble in a short series. They play the games for a reason and this season has been enjoyable. Hopefully, we will look back at 2017 as the year it all started and this franchise goes on a run of championship contention and titles for 5-10 years. Because, boy does this town deserve it...
  13. My friend insists the Twins are going to pop champagne and celebrate when/if they clinch the second wild card spot. This seems ridiculous to a sane person, celebrating locking up the #5 playoff spot. I am fairly certain the Houston Rockets or whatever middle of the road lame NBA team isn't popping the bubbly when they secure their first round spot in the NBA playoffs. Will our Twins really celebrate such a minor accomplishment in this fashion? The memory bank does not go back to 2010 for such trivial matters.
  14. Agree with you 100 percent. If we leave Colon out of the rotation there is no reason to have him on the roster as he is not a bullpen option.
  15. Go Twins! I will be at the game tonight so let's skunk these clowns!
  16. If Joe's numbers continue to trend positively 2017 and beyond, hopefully the voters will take the statistically weak 'concussion years' into consideration as down statistical years and not hold those years against Joe. Some postseason success and maybe hoisting a World Series trophy woud also be an intangible help to Joe's HOF case.
  17. Santana. 100% Santana. Colon in game 1 of the ALDS if you advance. Leave Berrios as the #3 choice simply because he is so young. There are enough off days in the postseason to move everyone up a slot if need be.
  18. This isn't a new story when it comes to concussions. It seems to take guys 3-4 years to recover, get healthy, and be productive again.
  19. The newspaper industry in the paper form should be dead within the next 20 years. Guys like Souhan won't have the built-in advantage of the platform of the newspaper so voices that are not on point will fade away into the distance.
  20. It's nice because I can spend the day outside with the family and get back home and watch the Twins before going back to work tomorrow. Great day ahead.
  21. There may still be some bumps in the road n
